Re: Panzer Corps 2 - $69.95 at launch
But the issue is, a lot of people won’t pay $70 for that game. I could buy 2 to 5 other games that would provide the same entertainment for a fraction of the price. How do we know the quality of these DLCs? How do we know we want those DLCs? That is something I like about OoB. You can see and play ...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - $69.95 at launch
I agree that 70 bucks seems a lot. But think about the hours and hours of fun you can have. My bet is that you can easily play 70 hours of Panzercorps 2. Probably a lot more including multiplayer, mods etc. Most likely, you will pay less than a buck for premium entertainment per hour. Sounds like a ...

I guess this mostly affects balance in multiplayer. How do you multiplayer guys see this?

What do Black arrows from Supply ship mean and.. Why can't I deploy a reserve infantry unit here - there is enough Supply for this area, I have loads of CPs https://i.imgur.com/pOfU8fl.png Many thanks Black arrows mean ships close to the coast provide supply. And you can only deploy units around de...

@Erik: Congrats, you now have groupies. Sadly, none of them fit the ususal requirements (young, female, willing). But you can still trash your hotel room for rock star points.

Re: CP adjustments - SPAT edition
@bebro: I guess this makes sense. Heavy mobile AT with 2-3 infantry is already a lot more powerful than massed tanks. However, I am always a bit worried that this breaks old DLCs in terms of balance, especially Endsieg. Or is this just for future DLCs?

Nothing official. But my guess is still the next Soviet DLC, playing the mirror image of the Panzerkrieg Campaign.

Re: 'Tanks, more tanks, Tovarish!' - Red Star Review and Discuss
Alright, I held Moscov and pushed the Wehrmacht back. Strangely enough, I found this pretty straightforward. I'll post my deployment below. If you stick to OoB rules in general and follow the Red Army's strengths (numbers, tanks, AA Bofors), this should work out. The main trust is on both flanks. De...

@Steevodeevo: Try dropping elite reinforcements (except for fighter planes) altogether from your game. This allowed me to always buy all the fancy equipment I wanted and finish all campaigns easily (on medium).

Re: 'Tanks, more tanks, Tovarish!' - Red Star Review and Discuss
Rostov is firmly back again in Red Army hands and I can move on to Moscov. See my deployment pattern below. The challenge in this mission is to not overcommit your forces to the very large northern front and instead focus your best units near Rostov to first retake it and then push towards the three...

Re: Crossing the Rubicon on "Unreliable"
This trait doesn't have too strong effect in game, IMO it's definitely too little in the game, but do whatever you want, I withdraw, but if Devs change the strength of this trait and don't keep it in its current form in some way, I will officially cancel my Slitherine account and keep playing witho...

Re: 'Tanks, more tanks, Tovarish!' - Red Star Review and Discuss
Yelnya. Won in 11 turns. I think that the Guards Infantry upgrade is a nice idea, but with its current shape is unusable. To stay afloat, I mostly use regular reinforcements (except for fighters) and at most try to keep my tanks around 2-3 stars exp. Infantry never reaches that far in exp. What do y...

Re: 'Tanks, more tanks, Tovarish!' - Red Star Review and Discuss
Alright, I held Smolensk. See my deployment pattern below. Generally, this works as almost all defensive missions in OoB (somebody has posted a resembling strategy already, I think it was CoolDTA...): 1. Assess the map, look for natural defense lines as rivers. There's one in the north, one northwes...

@kondi, spike: I am not sure what I find more immature - insulting somebody by calling him a 'mentally retarded teenager' or brandishing your gaming medals as if they would mean anything.
You are both adults. Act accordingly.

@PoorOldSpike: Yes, rivers are a natural defense line. However, you are then in range of the Wehrmacht's heavy arty and AA cover instead of them being in your support unit's range. Why not let them overstretch themselves?

Re: 'Tanks, more tanks, Tovarish!' - Red Star Review and Discuss
Rasineiai. No, I did not deploy a heroic single KV-2. I strongly suggest you dont either. MVP here is, believe it or not, 2 Bofors AA without transport. If you lure the enemy tac bombers into their range, you have a decent chance of taking them all out and gaining air superiority. (Ahistorical, but ...

Re: 'Tanks, more tanks, Tovarish!' - Red Star Review and Discuss
@MarechalJoffre: I think your plan takes too much time in that terrain. Spikes and brus problems were time management, not taking Viipurii in the allotted time frame. The northern approach may just be the shortest in a straight line, but there are no secondaries on the way. I think a lot of the diff...

Re: 'Tanks, more tanks, Tovarish!' - Red Star Review and Discuss
@Spike: I think you need to stick to the few roads and do not attack the northern secondary obj over the river. Instead, follow the road, then move east and south. Part of your force there already continues towards Viipurii. Bring tanks, but not too many.
