Re: Evade moves.

I can't explain the mechanics of it, but skirmishers can run a surprisingly long way if they dart through another unit to do it.

Thank you! Still gives me trouble from time to time, but I know how to manage it now. I was mostly just swamped with work the last few months. I seem to be slowly getting back into the swing of things now though.

Re: Battles.

Darn, this put my victory to shame. Well done shattering the right. I was worried your centre was way too thin, but you did a great job holding it together with your knights.

Re: The Historical Battles on... Prince?

Good luck in this endeavor Ludendorf! I mostly play on Duke difficulty. Are you planning to play the battles in the order they appear in the game menu or mix things up a bit? It looks like your aiming to fight each one from both sides too! Nice :D Thanks Pixel. :) The plan was to play through on or...

Re: I think that knights advantage in melee should be removed or lessened

I think you very much have to use the mobility of non-knightly lancers to your advantage. Non-knightly lancers are both cheaper and can move faster than knights. If the old-fashioned lancers get a couple of units behind the knights, there's nothing all that shock impact can do. The knights are going...

The Historical Battles on... Prince?

...I'm not brave enough for King yet. I'm starting to work through the historical battles on Prince. King will maybe come with time, but for those who celebrate coming in second, almost reaching your target for the month, or amassing an increasing collection of bronze and silver medals, this...

Re: What armies/units are you looking forward to in future DLCs?

I'm personally looking forward to pikes. Be they Swiss, Scottish or... darn, can't think of an S for the Low Countries, there's nothing I like better than confronting some delusional horsefly on his nag with a wall of cold, impervious steel commanded by professional officers that moves in one direct...

Re: Faction Spotlight!

Exactly! ;) It's like a computer game inside a computer game: squeeze through the narrow gap between the dark mountain and the deep swamp, then swim cross a white water stream, and THEN defeat the evil wizard (sorry, Ludendorf :) ). Admittedly, my decisions didn't exactly contribute either. Your on...

Re: Faction Spotlight!

Shows up to battle with an army based around light chariots. Getting to the only light chariot friendly area on the whole map involves squeezing through a one square gap between mountain and swamp then across a stream. That's how you know the map generation truly hates you. That was a bit of ...

Re: Newbie

Sounds like freakishly bad results for the hoplites. Were they flanked or was it really three on one? Were the irregulars in forest or on rough ground? Normally, that match up does mean a trouncing. Same for your massed archers; even on rough ground I would expect them to lose to the spear units.

Interesting theme. So, we're looking at hill combat this time?

Re: Billboard for those looking for MP opponents

I'd be interested in any one of the three, as long as I'm not voice recorded... ;) But for the sake of good order and to arrive at a suggestion, how about Greek 680-461 BC ? Uh... well, I do have to record the match. It wouldn't be much of a series without a video at the end to show for it. But no,...
