Not yet.

Though clearly I am in a minority of one in finding the QRS in the back of the rule book perfectly satisfactory.

But for the need to fumble around for reading glasses, I would agree with you. It is harder to misplace the book.

Make it three. Not only is the book harder to misplace, but you need to bring it along anyway. And it takes up no more room on the table than a QRF sheet.

But will you actually use this to cite rules, or make them up like in ancients?
:P

I will have a version of the full turn sequence done tonight for FOG_R and will start on the Set-Up for the back of the Full Turn Sequence next. The other half of the QR sheet will take a bit longer.

A high-level bullet summary tucked in a corner is occasionally useful, but until it's memorized it's much better to have the full carefully worded version in front of players.

A QRS is important because of table space (a loose sheet can land or rest on terrain or even troops without harm, while a book can cause a mishap - also why I like the small cm-size dice) and also because the pages will start to loosen up and fall out after extensive use.

QR Sheet

Post by Antipater » Tue Oct 19, 2010 4:13 pm

I have to agree here with Mike, a QR is much better and I am surprised by the lack of one after all the feedback from gamers. Opening and closing the book repeatedly damages the books spine, and leaving it open clogs up the table space. I would have thought a QR sheet on cardstock printed at the end of the book with a line of perforations so that it could be easily detached would have been the norm by now, or else a QR sheet made by the authors and posted here would have solved all concerns.

Cheers

To be fair, the problem with an official QRS is being open to fair criticism and spurious "interpretations" regarding the choice of what was included, omitted or abbreviated.

Safer to have a quasi-official QRS (Slitherine consenting as the copyright holder) with all faults and infamy descending upon the head of the plucky volunteer.

I found the unofficial 2 page FOG QRS more useful and readable than the ornate 4-page one (though that was admittedly better as a marketiing tool).

I should probably mention this to get it out of my system --

why, oh why, does the sequence of play need to be split between 2 pages rather than all on one facing the movement page as would have been most user friendly?

The turn sequence is the one sheet I'd like with the others from the back of the book as a QRS... Likely a forlorn hope (he he) but such is life.

When I have some time I'll have to create one for myself I guess (and not distribute it) ;)

Rather Frankensteinian, but one can cut the page out of the book, cut it in half, flip one half around and tape the halves together within a sheet protector to get the SOP page on one sheet.

I don't think I need it all that much, but for new players the SOP is the most important thing to have before them at all times to quickly get the flow of play to feel intuitive.
