Re: Oxford 1 Day Event - 11 October 2020
I think it could work using the various different routes for entering and leaving the building. But nothing in reply to my query as yet. Equally no views here as to whether anyone would feel like braving the weather and who is not in tier 3.
I shall post as soon as I hear more.

Re: Oxford 1 Day Event - 11 October 2020
I now have advice from the Village Hall. They say
“It has been agreed by the committee (after reading the latest guidelines) that an outdoor event of not more than 6, or entirely separated groups of 6, can go ahead. Therefore I am booking your gaming day on Sunday 13th December. I hope that you can make this work and most of all that the weather is kind to you for it. ”
So, we are on for Dec 13.
1.I shall ask Ben to set up the Eventbrite service to buy tickets for any of you who have not already done so.
2. Please may I know as soon as possible who feels able to come to face whatever the weather throws at us. If the number is very small I shall ask the Hall to cancel again unless Oxford club members want to make up the difference.
3. For what it is worth the long range forecast for Dec 13 is cold but no rain and a light breeze.
4. If we go ahead suggest a 15mm open to our usual 1 day rules.
Responses ASAP please.

Dear all,
The event date is one week away tomorrow. So far no takers from outside the Oxford area. Is that right? If so I shall throw it open to Oxford club members or, if not enough from there I shall have to cancel.
One last chance.

Hi Tom
Under the circumstances, I too am going to have to pass and withdraw my entry for the competition.
I realize you have tried very hard to keep all the options going, and that is much appreciated.
Hopefully we will have more favourable gaming conditions in the new year!
regards
David(B)

Yes, we can all look forward to a new start although I guess it will not be before late Spring or early Summer 2021.
Either way and in whatever format we shall try to put something on at Oxford for the FOGR community as soon as we can.
Good Christmas and New Year to all, despite it all.

Trev,
We gave upon that, too cold and too few of us to make it worth taking the Hall. All now off until circumstances allow (tier 1 in Oxford or early summer weather I guess)

Hopefully, in 2021, we can start to look to a tentative list of OWS Sunday dates and consider restarting FOG-R competition rounds and not have to wait until the spring/summer due to outdoor only permissions!
Season's Greetings to all!

Bought a ticket for the FOG-R tournament at Warfare in November - fingers crossed we will be allowed out then! David (B)
Re: Oxford 1 Day Event - 11 October 2020
Shame its only a 10 player max event. Seems pricey for that. There will be many opportunities (I hope) for FOGR tournies this year, in Oxford and Sutton in Ashfield. I suspect that a Godendag may find an alternative date as well.
May still go to Reading as well.

Re: Oxford 1 Day Event - 11 October 2020
Looking at the exit from lock-down timetable; at best we can hope for half a year of campaigning in F2F fashion; there is no news from Tom yet on even a putative timetable of FOG-R OWS events, so I am amortizing the costs as though it was a years worth! Hopefully see you at something sometime (will Polly Bowls do a FOG-R Saturday?) David (B)

Dear all,
We just received prospective dates for our club meetings in the rest of 2021. Sorting things out now on the assumption that the “roadmap” holds. Watch this space.

Do you accept newcomers to your club? My husband and I are not against new acquaintances and communication of interests. Of course, you need to get more familiar with the community.tjelsworth wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 10:04 pm Dear all,

By all means. Are you new to the Oxford area or new to the hobby? As I said watch this space, I shall be posting dates of club meetings here including a proposed set of dates for our one day FOGR events soon.
