Any news from the other semi-final?
Re: FGH'40 Tournament
We've got 4/5 turns left in each game, so we should be done soon. The games are quite interesting so far, and the map is definitely fun (haven't played it so far).

Re: FGH'40 Tournament
Words just reached me that we got our first finalist, Zarevic! Well done!
Zarevic (German) vs Glenghiscan (French) 2-2
Zarevic (French) vs Glenghiscan (German) 3-1
Seems like two close game. Will upload screens showing losses tomorrow.

Re: FGH'40 Tournament
Very close zaveric won the last game on the last move but to be honest the best player won ! No way was I getting into the village ! When's the next tourney I've got a taste for it now and well done zaveric and good luck in the final not that you'll need it
Re: FGH'40 Tournament
Thanks! They were vey very hard and close battles, and so nice as well.
This is the way I´ve seen the matches (with glenghiscan`s permission). And sorry about my english.
1) Glenghis as german really surprissed me with an armour massive attack on his left trying to encircling the village by the south. And he succeded killing me more than a half of my R35 and all my artillery!.
However the problem remained basically the same: to get into the village, with all french infantry inside it.
2) Me as german tried to manage a different strategy: i went directly for the village with the infantry and the support of PzI and PzIV, meanwhile I tried to manouver on both flanks with the more powerful PzIII (and every Pz II available). In the flanks glenghis won clearly both tank battles, with excellent combination of artillery, tanks and some infantry in the south; and with the decissive Somua arriving in the north (maybe they went too far away the village..).
Inside Hannut my infantry could secure the village with heavy casualties and this allowed my remaining armour to take cover inside it.
Finally it was a draw, with germans desperately deffending the village (2 vp) and french outside (2 vp). I suffered more casualties i think.
Definitely nice battles.
Thanks glenghis for the games!
Thanks cavehobbit for this great scenarios and even for the effort of the tournament`s organitation!
Cheers
Zarevic

Re: FGH'40 Tournament
Couldn't agree more my mine objective was to take out the arty hoping the souma would flank and find nothing ! But I think the mortars are more lethal than the arty in this one and the field guns more lethal than the armour something to consider if there's another tournament ! This is the best map out of the 4 I think also your English is far far far better than my Spanish I can order a beer and that's about it let alone type it on a forum for the world to see

Re: FGH'40 Tournament
Hello everyone,
Just a few words to congratulate the designers and players of this game tournament. I play often with some of you this series of battles and the only thing that makes me unhappy is the fact of had been late to join the tournament!
To Cavehobbit: just keep doing the good work!

Welcome to our tourney section! Pity you missed the first FGH tourney, work has begun on forum new maps. And I'm sure there will be a new tournament when the new maps are finished. More about these new maps will be presented here soon.

Thank's a lot for your words, dear Glen! Nevertheless, I'm pretty sure that unbalanced score in my favour would be rebalanced sooner or later.
It would be a pleasure join all of you in the next tournament!
