Ok I have waited long enough the vote is in and at a whopping 3 to 1 we are going with option 2.

I have set up the Tournament game with Sylvio
Scenario Poland
password
contest

I am still waiting for Braccada to finish his "holiday" :P

But I intend to play these 2 Gentleman simultaneously and will post day to day reports after the match is done.
(Much in the same way I do my AAR's here
http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 45&t=65111

and here
http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 45&t=68874

If I win both or win 1 and lose 1 I will sit out for round 2 and let the remaining 6 competitors duke it out for round 2 as I will get a bypass.
If I lose both then I will be the biggest loser and continue to just set up the matches for the remaining competitors as I will be knocked out.

Sylvio and Braccada make me pay for my cockiness.

At this point I will not care if I lose both matches, I just want to play.

Matches are both set up waiting for either of you to join.

I am going to bed in the hopes I wake up to a nice surprise before I go to work.

and as always...

A brave choice - risking two losses in the first round!

Naxor Congratulations on being the first winner.

Argotelu, you are not done with the tournament.

Wait for further information about Round 2 and the next step battles.

I hope you both enjoyed your experience.

Some of these scenarios are unfamiliar to me, and I have Panzercorps, Afrikacorps, and Allied Corps and all the Grand Campaigns.

Where are these scenarios coming from?

I assume you are speaking about
Hylan Valley

These are balanced scenarios that are in the game.
Hylan Valley is a balanced scenario that you can see and play if you come over to the multiplayer side.

Come on over we will take real good care of you, and trust me, that once you experience the fun and challenges of playing multiplayer you will find it hard not to get addicted.

At least it sure has hooked me.

Now to play my competitor. ;-)

Ok everyone.

I wanted to take a pulse check and see where everyone is at in their respective contests.

I have heard back from Argotelu and Naxor. Naxor is the first winner.
I know that everyone is deep in their contests.
Unfortunately Braccada has gone AWOL, and hasn't even started our campaign and hasn't communicated with me since February 14th.
My match with Sylvio is coming close to wrapping up and it was an awesome match that I cannot wait to post an AAR.
Unless he has some unseen Sneaky Pete stuff I will be the winner in that match up.

I guess I would like a sense of how close we are so I can possibly start setting up the Round 2 match ups.
With an even dozen again I can set up another 6 matches between the 6 winners and the 6 los..well let's just say less fortunate ones. ;-)

Please share any crazy stories too...I love hearing flavor from the matches. Hollowlolo is usually very good about giving everyone a sense of what is happening in his matches.
Either reply back to me or post them on the forum.

My one are you kidding me moment was when I was beginning to assault Lodz. I had a Panzer 3E buttressing itself against Lodz, and I had a Pz1a get caught with his pants down on the Bzura river.
Sylvio used an artillery and inf to destroy my 7 Strength Pz1a on the river and then used a bomber and 2 Polish infantry to destroy my 9 Strength Pz3e. :x

Oh well you win some matches and you lose some, but it appears I will be winning the battle.

Let me know where you are at, and I hope you are all having a good time.

TopGun

Thanks for giving me the update, General Topgun.

I look forward to hearing more of the outcome. I await further battlefield reports.
Any "flavors" from the battle, read particular battles are always appreciated.

I am posting your report on the forum.

I am looking forward to setting up the next rounds as this is so much fun. ;-)

Ok Folks,

I want to put it out there.

I would like to move on to the 2nd round of contests, but word has gotten round to me that some players are struggling at completing their turns in a timely fashion. (like at all)
TopGun and SlowGTP I am looking over in your direction, and yes I have my stern face on. :| :P :)

Seriously though, let's try and wrap this up as I would like to post the 2nd round of Contests.

I am on Day 5 and 6 with my match with Bracadda who was gracious enough to finally join the fray this Monday after his week long "Holiday" (He has to work 14hr shifts though so I can understand the desire to unplug after a grind like that. ) We should be wrapped up pretty quickly this weekend.

I won the match against Sylvio by winning as the Germans in round 11 he beat me as the Germans in round 14.

I have heard back from all players
1st round Winners
Naxor
Goose_2 (pending match with Bracadda)
Riffraff
(at this point based on their opponents non playing)
Rag116
and Wolfslair

Indeterminate as of yet
(Hollowlolo and Mkoki are duking it out in Benelux/Low Countries and it may be where the Allies win both sides, so it may come down to prestige at the end or the first person to wipe out the German Player keep me informed)
(Maybe me and Bracadda should wrap up this weekend)

1st Round Less fortunate Players
Argotelu
Skyfox
Slowgtp and TopGun based on their lack of turnaround time
Sylvio

My wife will be gone this weekend so this increases my opportunities to play.

I really would like it if we could wrap this up in the next couple of days so I can post round 2 matches, and unless I hear back from SlowGTP (Must stand for Slow Game Turn Player  ) and TopGun I will put them in the loser/less fortunate column.

What do you guys think? Should I give Slowgtp and TopGun longer or move on as soon as I get word from Mkoki and Hollowlolo and Bracadda and I wrap it up?

I want to keep the level of excitement and suspense going as I am enjoying myself more than a grown man probably should.

I look forward to your feedback and response. (PS I am posting this on the forum)

If you don't hear anything by the 29th then maybe move on to round 2.

Ok it is official...
Nothing heard back from slowgtp and so we are moving on with slowgtp being the first eliminated.
I pray that there is nothing wrong with his health.

That means we have the Winners Circle and the Less Fortunate Circle
The Less Fortunate Circle is still in this, but once they lose a second time they are eliminated for this tournament.

That means we have an even dozen with slowgtp's demise and so an even 6 matches. (I will continue this round for 2 reasons. One it makes an even 6 matches again and Two I just want to play. ;-)

Round 2 matches
Winners Circle matches
Wolfslair71 vs RAG116 Desert Squadrons
Hollowlolo vs Riffraff France
Goose_2 vs Naxor Partisan Uprising

Less Fortunate Circle matches
Bracadda vs Sylvio Norway
Mkoki vs Skyfox Kursk
Argotelu vs TopGun Frozen North

Set it up as a paired match with undo off.
password
contest

After this round it will mean we have 3 Winner's and 6 Less Fortunate's and 3 eliminated
So the First one from the Winners Circle to finish first and report back to me or the forum will get a pass for Round 3.

Let the Games continue
and in the epic words of the old Mortal Combat game
Round 2 FIGHT!!!

Desert squarons scenario with undo off has been set up by me. Glad to be moving on but would have preferred to actually get the win by defeating my opponent. Excited for round 2

I have set up Norway battle for Bracadda. My game is written as modified but all is normal. It write it each time I launch a new game since Panzerkorp has dowloaded some new units on Multiplayer game, specially with Russian army. But I think nothing was changed on Norway. Have fun and good luck Bracadda.

OK it has been a week since the new round has been posted and I have not heard much in the way of reports.

I am assuming all battles have started and going well?

Mine is about 2/3 over and unless by some miracle Naxor up and disbands like all of his artillery I will be losing both matches.

He has 3 out of 5 objectives on both maps and he is still pressing me back.

This is definitely not my finest moment.

I have struggled finding the time to play my other multiplayer challenges as I have become obsessed with just playing this tournament.

I expect to wrap up sometime either this weekend or first thing next week.

I hope to hear back from my fellow Generals soon to see how they are doing, so that maybe by next weekend I can set up Round 3 for the contest.

Keep me updated.
