The easy way to do this would be to allow a prestige refund for upgrading(?) your transport to 'no transport'.
Then when you don't want a truck for a scenario, you leave it in the garage and next time you need one you pay for a truck and off you go.

You can do that as it is but paying in full for a new truck every few scenarios seems a bit rough and even a half refund would be handy.

Subs need a switchable surface mode. Actually all subs are submerged.

You can mod this, but I assume most users don't want to mod but just play.

Hint: In WW2 history the submarines move surfaced most of time.

Dear all,

1 For me a big issue in campaign gaming: possibility to leave behind and equip unit transports in the unit inventory
This would be essential for me since e.g. an armored vehicle unit transport is very expensive and makes unit replacement of even basic infantry very expensive. I would e.g. not bring Infantry including armored vehicle to an urban fight in Stalingrad because it is of no use in a slowly moving house to house combat and second Infantry will suffer from casualties and so I would at least leave their armored vehicle behind to avoid it being damaged.

2. inspection of units in the unit deployment phase

I just thought of this today and I can't believe no one has thought of this yet.

New Steam Achievements to coincide with the new material you guys have released plus also insane Platinum Achievements
Heroic Platinum 100 heroes in one campaign
Platinum 1 for 200 infantry kills
Platinum 1 for 200 tank kills
Platinum 1 for 200 airplane kills
Platinum 1 for 100 Multiplayer Games Diamond for 1000
achieving 40000, 50000, 60000, 70000, 80000, 90000, 100000 prestige in a campaign
completing Soviet Corps
Greatest Soviet Achievement
Completing American DLCs each one
Completing Sealion

I am sure there could be others, but those are off the top of my head.

It would help bring old gamers back to try and get and complete some of the new stuff you have put out, plus it would really challenge the already existing players.

I think the steam achievements have to be possible.

I mean if you have 45 or so deployable units in Berlin, and around 50-60 units plus your reserves (and this is the end of the 45 DLC), you can only get three heroes max per unit and this is when you play them for most of the war. You would be able to get 180 heroes max for 60 units, and that would require all 60 units be played to 4-5 stars and get enough kills to get heroes. Don't think there are enough enemies to get units that much experience! I mean I get 50 units to 5 stars by rotating them out of action, but I cannot get that many heroes.

I played the whole 39-45 DLC and had a couple tank units that had 120 or so tank kills, and these were SE tanks I played in EVERY battle on the front lines. They had hundreds of kills, but only a portion were tanks and the enemy literally cannot present me enough armor in X amount of turns and scenarios to get to 200 tank kills. Same goes for infantry and airplanes.

Prestige would easily be achieved in the colonel settings on the old rules where prestige caps aren't included. I can't do much better than 60K prestige by 1943 on the new rule settings, even when minimizing overstrength from 39-42 to SE units and artillery.

I mean doing Advance to the Elbe on Field Marhshall is impossible, but some of those "platinum" achievements seem impossible without cheating.

Well I believe they are possible.

I have almost 100 heroes in my army now in 1944 as I have more units than I take into battle.
I maxed out at 70+ prestige in 1943 before beginning the decent down into the 50k range in 1944. I am sure that with a little more diligence I can get the upper teirs.

100 kills for infantry was achieved in 1942
100 kills tanks and planes were achieved in 1943

I think 200 kills would take some serious monitoring but not impossible.

These achievements are for obsessive people like me.

I was talking about 200 TANK kills, not 200 overall kills. Did you mean 200 kills of all types by one unit or 200 just tank units killed by one unit? I have my always deployed SE tank in Berlin redux and it had 116 tank kills and probably 250 or so other unit kills. I don't know how I could get enough tank combat to get that front-line unit up to 200.

It is believable that you have 100 heroes in 44 because you probably have accumulated a bunch of equipment and have like 6o units (like 40 are deployable). The problem is that it gets hard to give old or captured equipment combat experience late and it's unlikely your SE Maus or Prototype Jagtiger are going to get more than one hero in the limited time they have to fight. So most likely your most experienced core forces will get the max 3 heroes and that is it. So you can probably get 120-150 heroes by the end by rotating units into the front line, but you run into problem that heroes require combat and rotating units reduces combat opportunities. I think getting 200 heroes is impossible because even if you have 100 reserve units you will not get them into battle very often to gain experience and kills.

Is there anyway to enable the ability to purchase new naval units for custom maps?

Also, can we maybe make the 12.8 German AA have a dual mode like the 8.8?

Uber Rudel
That is how you get 200 tank kills. (He is like a 1 shot machine on clear days and half on cloudy.)

I had Heroic Platinum for 100 heroes not 200
Heroic Gold is now at 50 so to Double it would be difficult but not impossible.

I agree on both yeah. I forgot about Rudel. I don't think I lost many strength points off him and killed thousands of units :)

A question in between here. Is this being worked on right now? Since the initial post we haven't heard back from any developers yet. Which of our points do you like, are you going to do a beta for some of this stuff, when can we expect a patch... that sort of thing?

I don't know if this has been brought up or not but I would love to see a hero where they would award you with more ammunition and/or fuel for the duration of the campaign.

For example, a paratrooper would see its ammo double from 4 to 8. A tank could have more fuel and ammo. The possibilities are endless with all unit classes.

Thanks

I agree that more support stat heroes would be cool. We have combat heroes (attack, defense, initiative) but not all support ones (movement, spotting, range) are covered yet. Ammo and fuel should definitely be covered as well. There are of course were different values here so instead of a fixed value, maybe do a +10% bonus on those and make the minimum 1, just in case low ammo tanks and artillery result in 10% being 0.8=0. I'd even go as far as suggesting to remove the +3 attack and defense heroes. I think those are way too unbalanced and not needed. +2 is still fantastic and adding ammo and fuel heroes instead would get you more variety.

In general I think there should be more variety in the heroes. Maybe add trait heroes. Like you can get the bunker buster, mine sweeper, recon move, or other traits that make sense for all units.

I do play Panzer Corps for about a month now, and have some questions/suggestions that I think fit very well here. They're about things (in large part interface-related) that puzzle me a lot, and I think wouldn't be all that difficult to change/fix:

The most important one: special abilities. Some units do possess them (Rate of Fire, Bridging, Combat Engineers, Fortkiller...) - but there's absolutely no information about them in unit stats (as available in the game). And they do have an influence on both tactics (once on the battlefield) and in purchases. I'd expect such information to appear on detailed unit stats... I know all this is present in file, but browsing a file is definitely not fun - such info should be available in the game itself.

Speaking of detailed unit stats - they're available with a combination of Alt+L-click... Which requires 2 hands, really. As it happens, it's often difficult for me. Can an appropriate link be broght somewhere that doesn't require both mouse and keyboard? A key shortcut that puts cursor in 'info mode' (not requiring simultaneous keyboard and mouse action) would do...

Unit stats themselves - show basic unit data, but not particular unit details. I think it would be helpful if current data was shown (perhaps with different color showing attributes that were improved over the baseline) - and I mean especially side tab with unit data here. Improvements due to heroes and experience should be included.

----------------------

Second thing - definitely secondary, but still would be nice for flavor: unit descriptions. I know there is library with nice short descriptions of most important types of combat vehicles used, but that's it. At the very least, it would be nice if unit details screen provided link to appropriate library entry (if available).
It would be even better if every unit had a single paragraph describing details of a particular version - basically what was changed in this particular version and why. Together with library that would deepen the experience a lot, I'd say.

EDIT: and one more thing. Decisive victory requires fulfilling objectives with X turns remaining - but there's no available timer showing how far is that. I need to manually check scenario parameters and then count which turn would that be... this would be also nice to have displayed right in turn timer, like: turn 3 of 22(14).
War doesn't determine who's right. War determines who's left.

I know it's a bit late but haven't checked forums outside modders zone in a long time

1. Add audio to GC Briefings.
Don't forget those East Front missions where a woman take the job of informing us. 8)

2. Implement GC rework and new equipment as official content.
Good job nikivdd

3. Disable spotting heroes being rewarded if FoW is turned off.
I know that custom option is kind of a cheat, but a lot of us play with that and those heroes become useless.
And i dont want to reload a whole turn to see if i get a hero with other stat, when i can even lose that random hero chance and end without hero

4. Rework special heroes so they arent uber-heroes.
They can have multiple stats as special heroes, but no numbers that other units cant get:
  • +3 attack / defense
  • +1 movement / initiative / spotting etc.
  • No heroes with negative values.
- Rudel then can be a more realistic hero and could even be removed the duplicated one. Something like +3 Attack and +1 Initiative, don't know

5. Unit stats with bonus applied in the UI.

6. Custom option slider: Max. Core +/- 5

7. Use all slots for german medals. --> Iron Cross 2nd Class / Iron Cross 1st Class / Knight's Cross (This one get upgrades: swords, diamonds etc.)

8. More elite bonus units - Artillery, AT, Recon...any class. And like in the reworked GC mod, make them purchasable (same rules, more expensive).

9. Option to change background music with battle sounds (i have done this for personal use and i can tell you is both fun and immersive).
I never play with that monotonous music but a far distant ambient of artillery and gunshots is really cool.

10. Option for automatic repairs.
If turned on, at the deployment phase you will get all units repaired at full strength.
There could be advanced options (radio button for example) for:
  • Use first elite replacements if enough prestige (the system could start repairing first the most veteran units so they can get elite repairs before the rest so prestige is well expended).
  • Use elite replacements only if green rep. would mean losing a star.
  • Always use green repairs.

Automatic repairs: I thought such option is available already - part of difficulty setting?

That suggestion to allow change to core numbers is potentially interesting and could be tied in with difficulty level. Sergeant +2 core, Lieutenant + 1 core, Colonel and General 0. I don't play above General so I can't suggest anything sensible for FM and Rommel.

The problem with adding core slots is the S*** C**. But I'm seriously hoping the devs will see sense and put the SC as a selectable option. Please don't prove me wrong dev team.

Here's a weird thought, what if you could put some of your prestige points towards research?
Maybe get some prototype units??!!
Or in the old days how if you wanted to throw your weight around say, and spend prestige to fight certain battles. In the original panzer general you could spend prestige to get the Italian fleet to help in the attack on England.

I remember the pay 1000 prestige to have the Italian fleet support the invasion.

Most of what you suggested is possible using the scenario editor, and when I've come across them they add colour and interest, but some might be a bit over-powerful if it was a player option for every scenario. If you're only doing something once every now and then the cheat codes work OK (all eqp to get Kradschutzen in 1939, to buy an SE unit or to add a core slot).

Along that line being allowed to purchase allied units for your core.
