Turn 5:

Germans started the turn with cleaning up the Partisans behind the line. In the North no chance for the Cavalry to retreat behind the river. Lifever decided to savrifce the Stuka, because the way home is to long for the remaining fuel.

Lifever found the BT-5 in the end and eliminated it instantly. The Stuka had to get back in duty before it could be repaired.

The infantry going west by train managed to excape the tanks at least for one turn.

At the front lines we see that not enough troops are present to advance fast. So the strategy to devide the germans all over the map did work quite well. But this effect will not last for ever, Partisans are dying fast.

In the south there is still a partisan active behind the lines. The cavalry switched through the lines to help the infantry.

Next turns are not as interessting, because of the perspective of the allied side. Most german units are not visible so I will just show some situations here. There are still some partisans active behind the lines. But they are having a hard time. Here is the and of the go west train ;-)

In the south I did approach the south west complex carefully just to find a defending Kradschützen with visibilty 3. So my cavalery is uncovered as well. May be I am able to bait them out of the city.

The weather forecast is showing rain for the next turn. That would really be a good idea

No rain and Kradschützen still sitting in the city. Another partisan died a little bit to the north.

The good news are all those units hunting the partisans will not be available to attack moscow. The game will be over till they will come near.

Up to north a conscript tried to break through the line and was ambushed by a artillery in halftracks, both suffering 5 points of strength.

Somewhere south of moscow german aircraft found a T-60 to attack it. I managed to get my SU-5-2 to moscow by train.

Sitting in moscow we now can here the fights coming closer. In the frontline I have choosen bridge builders because they have the highes defence value. It is not relevant how much damage they will deal, but they may resist the incoming artillery much better then conscripts. If they are forced to move onto the river this is not as bad either. So if they are able to stay more than a turn, this would be perfect.
In the second line there are 2 SU-5-2 and then some AAs to guard them.
The infantry is located behind to strike back once all the hexes are occupied by germans. To get another artillery onto the airfield would be great. But there will be about two turn till german attack will start.

To your surprise I was in very good mood at that moment. I was on holiday for two weeks before the game and had still some days off. So I was very relaxed and Lifever and me had a really good talking during the game. May be I was a little to relaxed, but I had a lot of fun together with Lifever.
Starting with France where I had to face alexrus I was sure to loose every game in beginning, but me strategy did carry me through all those games. Lifever did counter my strategy very well and was tactical on a level I could not deal with. So I have a lot of respect for the way Lifever was playing Rush to Moscow.

Great to hear, that is the right attitude, and maybe I just need to grow up when it comes to losing matches. ;)

Both games had an ending.

Gwaylare told me he will finish this as soon he finds time.

Writing this stuff in such detail sure is an effort. :)

Great, thanks. Yes, AARs take some time/effort! I was just too curious as it is/was so interesting on this classic map...
