regarding the units...sry..no unit packs upfront..they are unique and the mini insignias are hell lot of work so I dont really like the idea to see them crossposted all over the net long before release. After all the work I want these units to be inextricably linked with PanzerCorps East...
So they have to debut with the mod Iam afraid... ...
later people are free to use them as they please as long as they credit me and the skin makers/artists in case they going to incooporate them into release mods

The PanzerCoprs East teaser trailer is great, and the game concept, maps and units you are developing are beyond anything I have seen before
Re: Panzer Corps East - The struggle for Russia "Grand Strat
Thnx my friend...I will give my very best to create the definite PanzerCorps game for all those who always wanted to play on a huge strategic divisional/brigade level in an all decisive huge campaign within a realistic setting...VonRyan wrote:The PanzerCoprs East teaser trailer is great, and the game concept, maps and units you are developing are beyond anything I have seen before

Any idea when you'll be releasing this gem? I'm salivating already!
Re: Panzer Corps East - The struggle for Russia "Grand Strat
No idea...this is a one man project and I still have a few truckloads of work to do...LostAgain wrote:Any idea when you'll be releasing this gem? I'm salivating already!
What I do know though is that stuff that is hastily cobbled together usually turns out to be utter crap.
So tomorrow I start merging the new Africa terrain layers with Massis new tiles and start reworking the map...
I will build this monster with patience cause I hate doin things twice and I hate bugfixing so I will make sure
highest quality before making it public. I think this is in everybodys interest as a campaign can be pretty time consuming and
it would be a pity it would get ruined half way thru cause of gamebreaking bugs, would it ?
Now its about time for an upgrade, isnt it ?Shrike wrote:Damn, I just realized I may have to upgrade my 7 year old rig if I want to be able to play your map
So do I...scypion wrote: .....I waiting for this

I had a 512MB GPU and the StratMap always stayed black when I tested the map...
then I upgraded to a 1GB GPU and voila...the StratMap displayed.
Dont know if this was seriously the reason..my old GPU had some issues thats why I replaced it but it gave me some thought

After playing around and running some tests with the Generic Mod enabler I found that its a lot of hassle for the PC illiterate user
because Panzercorps East will be a deep mod with a lot of changes to UI, Graphics and most other folders in the game.
This would require installation in the MyDocuments/My Games/PanzerCorps/Mods root AND the JSGME MOD folder in the game folder.
This is a lot of user action and very unhandy. Its most unfortunate that the ingame mod support is not deep enough in order to make the exe always read and load Modfolder files first and then load the remaining files needed from the game folder.
I therefore decided to make a new build and provide a complete PanzerCorps East folder like DMP has done with Winter War and their other PanzerCorpss derivations.
This seems the most user friendly approach to me and gives me entire freedom in design.

As a computer Noob, I am eternally grateful to you Chris10, as will the future generations of players.
Old Timer Panzer General fan. Maybe a Volksturm soldier now. Did they let Volksturm drive Panzers?

You are wellcome my friend ..as well its the most comfortable way for me. More freedom in design and quicker testing...flakfernrohr wrote:As a computer Noob, I am eternally grateful to you Chris10, as will the future generations of players.
and since Iam such a lazy brat the decision was really a no brainer

Trying to make the new Africa graphics suitable for using with muddy and frozen ground...
In deep Russia there were some desert areas and some nice overlays came with Africa too so it would be a shame to skip them.
And I want these new transition areas from green to desert.
The graphics designer working for PzC was quite lazy.....he could have rendered muddy and frozen in one go.
Right now if you use muddy or frozen weather in Africa scenarios the map becomes black when muddy or frozen ground is to be displayed.
Not so much of a problem for the Arika campaign but an annoying issue when using the terrain for other desertish areas which had muddy and frozen ground
Its quite a lot of fiddling around to reproduce the same color setting in order to achieve a smooth and undetectable transition but I think its looking promising right now...
Desert transition dry
