You can place your own crosses on the Panthers with this files.

I am afraid Flak can forget his hollydays for the cammo skin job ;)

Ah but a joy it is to see these great units on the thread. What a joy it is to skin them too!
In the meantime.........Here is the Vomag 9 88mm which is going to be a very useful unit in the game. JFYI I usually make my masks without masking the cannon/armament unless it is not visible enough on a unit. I did not mask the 88mm on this unit and it is camo just like the unit's body. If there are those of you who would want a Vomag 9 with a mask for the 88mm, I will make two other units with it masked. Just reply on the thread.

Phcas: As we are now used to, your "family" of Panther tanks is an excellent piece of art... But, and please I do not want to be taken as a party crasher, you should take note that the hull lateral in the "G" version was different from the design of the same part in the earlier "D" and "A" versions of that tank. If you take the side-skirted graphics, this is not a problem, because it is not visible, but I think that that difference should be shown in those graphics which that part of the hull is exposed to view... Just a thought for the sake of accuracy.
Thanks, of. course for sharing your work with all of us!

Flak: I cannot thanks you any more for the hard work you are donig with the masks and camo skinned units! Thanks!! :-)

Hello Guille,

Thanks for your reaction. I am going to have a look (in my books) what you mean. I have read that the body of the G was a little bit wider but I am going to have a close look at photos now.

Thank you Guille, I am only to happy to do it (masks, etc.). It is a pleasure. Yes, the rear hull had a wider plate or "Flare" on the D and A versions, but with all of this, I am not complaining at all. There is a tool that PHCAS has made and sent to me to change Panthers without even realizing he had made the tool, I think. As soon as the dust settles about the rear hull flanks on the Panthers, I will put it on the thread with instructions on how to use it in Paint NET. You only need to cut and paste with Paint NET and you can have a wide variety of Panthers, all different. :)

PS: Have attached a picture of the unit I made with it and skinned

Phcas: Thanks for your positive answer to my suggestion... This kind of collaboration is what gives us better results from the work originated in this wonderful community. I am in no doubt thet you will come up with a perfect family of Panther unit icons...

Flak: I am very glad that your skills are expanding... We can all see that the quality of your work is superb. Also, I also like that you use Paint.Net, which in my opinion is one of the best graphical edition software (freeware) available...
About the new modular "tool" for the Panther created by Phcas... Would it not be absolutely GREAT if the DCS software includes a function to add layers on top of the base icons (just like it currently adds the camo skins as layers, and then merging them with the base icons), in order to "customize" the icons, by means of adding external fittings to vehicles, like track links, additional tools, markings, etc...

Thumbs up, guys! You are absolutely great!!

I will always ve thankful for your work shared here!

Final Panthers

Rework on hulls of D, A and G

In this RAR file "Final Panthers Grey.rar" is everything you need to make any Panther you need in grey (cammo will follow later)

In the file is the basic Panther D, A and G (latest version, forget the others). In the readme file you can read how to add: MG's, spare tracks on the hull, spare tracks on the turret, flags, crosses, side skirts.

Greetings PHCAS

@Guille..............Rezaf would have to be the person to see if the feature could be added to DCS. That is WAY BEYOND anything I can even think about managing. I can fiddle around and play a little with Paint NET and a bit with GIMP, but not very much of an expert. The key to masking is to do it Pixel by pixel and a great unit icon to begin with is easily more than half of the equation.

May God bless PHCAS.............you are bestowing countless blessings upon us. I really mean it too.

AND if a person adds this extra turret track armor mask/file to the file you download from PHCAS that I now call the "PANTHER MAKER", you can have TWO (2) variations for turret armor

I will make some icons with camo skins from the "PANTHER MAKER" tool by PHCAS and post on the forum for those of you who do not dabble in masking or skinning. Since it opens up such a diverse selection of variations, I don't think it would be a feasible idea to try to do them all, but I will so some after I make some Panthers.............
