EASTERN FRONT: SOVIET STORM

Image

Welcome to the Eastern Front comrades!.
The Motherland calls you!.

This mod features a full coverage of the Eastern Front events during the Second World War, it adds a much more deep immersion than the vanilla game. For now it is focused on the Soviet side of the war, so you will be able to play and enjoy a LOT of new historical Soviet units and other stuff.
The project includes a full campaign (The Forgotten Campaigns) in which you will command your forces from the very early days of Barbarossa until the end of the war. The scenarios feature battles and events not covered in the vanilla PzC and most the WW2 games out there... the forgotten campaigns, but also some important ones like Moscow and Berlin.

In addition, you will be able to take control of the Red Army in the new big scale scenario covering the entire war on the Eastern Front, from the first days of Barbarossa until the first half of 1945. Be ready to serve the Motherland in The Great Patriotic War.
Important: I strongly suggest to check the Library to learn the mechanics and rules of this scenario, otherwise you will miss important info.
Features

* Over 1300 new units (including brand new ones and camos)
* Soviet Campaign featuring 38 scenarios from 1941 to 1945

Thanks a lot for your support guys!, I really apreciate it.

The Hanko Peninsula is about to get hot! (very early version, a lot more to come)

The finnish are ready to assault the peninsula

A very embarrassing question: how can I set deploy hexes on the water?, I mean, I want the possibilty to deploy some core units on the water, of course they should get a transport ship automatically. I tried the straight way but the game crahses every time.

Regards.

It's not actually that silly a question - I think I may have asked it at one stage (when I was new to modding). You set them up the same way as land deploy hexes, but you have to have some sea transports set up for that side as well. Usually I would put about 1.1 transports per avaliable hex. (If you have 15 hexes, do 16 or 17 transports, If 20, then 22) To set up transports:

1. Open up editor
2. Load scenario and open the params.
3. Assign countries that you want tansports for to their respective side (Axis / Allies)
4. Exit and reopen params.
5. Select "Transports" tab
6. Click one of the boxes for the alliance (Axis/Allies), that has an arrow pointing down on it, and select "[countryname] Landing Craft"
7. Enter a number in the box to the right of the first one.

If the country you wish to set Landing Craft for doesn't have any in their unit set, select Germany (Axis) or UK (Allies) to be on the side in question. "Then select [Germany/UK] Landing Craft". If you do this, you won't be able to purchase German/British units (unless there is a flag for them on the map - unless their side has "Share flags" enabled), but will be able to use their transport craft. This is how Japan can use trains and landing craft in War of the World.

PS: I am thinking to add a Minesweeper boat, but of course I don´t have any icon for it. Which icon from the vanilla game do you think would suit better for the role?

Good to hear you liked my solution. Regarding the minesweeper boats, the "Schnellboote" icon would be the closest resemblance, but I would probably just get guille to make one up for you.

Yeah, I was think the same, but I already "grabbed" the schnellboote to use it as some kind of patrol boat. I think I will have to bother Guille once again :P

Nice captured equipment  !. Ineed there going to be some in this campaign (I already made a soviet panther), so I will use some of them for sure. Thanks a lot nikivdd.

The wehrmacht continues the push to Tallinn, the soviets would be able to stop them?
Image

I was stuck these last days working in some german air camos as I realized I didn´t have any for this battle . My idea for the whole campaign is to use different camouflages for each scenario, I know it sounds crazy, but I want to try to make them unique. So I am searching (since the beggining of this project) in the whole web for camouflage info regarding the battles I want to recreate, luckly for me the DCS standard gallery it was saving me life... until today. I spent sometime editing the BF109E for the Barbarossa summer campaign, now I know I suck in the unit graphics editing :P

Here you can see that (the bf110s of course, are from bebro):
Image

Due to the game engine limitations, as soviet you will be able to use these "unique" units only as auxiliaries, but I will try to give enough "Guard" units to give some color to your army :)
