Just picked this up and ready for PBEM, but first some q's

Post by astycloud » Fri Apr 18, 2014 5:14 pm

I picked this sucker up to fulfill my ww2 multiplayer jones while I wait for WiF to become more 'robust'. This looks like it could do the trick due to an active multiplayer and mod community. One thing that has me a bit concerned though are the mechanics. I am usually a huge advocate for transparent mechanics and result feedback. Especially combat mechanics. Maybe I am wrong but I am not sure if I see that in this title. I have flipped through the documentation perhaps in the wrong place, but I can't find any detailed sequence of combat , formulas, explanations etc. also, it doesn't seem as though the game provides post combat feedback, die rolls etc.

If anyone could clarify this for me or point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

And f anyone wants to pummel a noob PBEM, pm me!

which version have you picked up - you need teh updates to get you to version 3.0

search the forum for the sequence - staffenburg has listed it a couple of times

also there is an updated manual, which is very large by volume so you need to download it - search for that as well

I've searched the forum and seen some bits and pieces but nothing complete, or "official" looking.

I just got the game, and it seems to be v3.00.

Also has the GS 2.x manual. 645 pages!

Please read the section titled "How To Play The Game"

The Tactics section contains some of the formulas and results you can expect from combat. Then the Ground, Naval & Air Warfare sections have more informations. Finally the Logistics and Environments goes into the final details,

Hope this helps.

PS - any recommendations on the manual - please let me know - I am the person that puts it together...

Thx all. Digging through the materials there is a lot more than I first believed.
