Thanks Rich for your report - the battlefield looks most impressive. :D

The OOB's are really useful as this is a Peninsular battle I'm looking to refight - my dad was in the 7th Royal Fusileers and this was their signature battle (That astonishing infantry!) and they still celebrate Albuera Day. I heard lots about this battle in my youth (many years ago now!).

What size table did you use and in what scale? - do you have a "wargamers map" of the battlefield?

Once again thanks for the report.

Hi Don, we used the Nap Battles map. I'm happy to email it to you. We reduced the battlefield to a 6x4 table as this suited where the fighting happened.

Hy,

Good work .

I am still painting the portugeese and wait for a friend to paint his spanish army .

Reading the scen orbat I was wondering about the spanish army . I remembered that there were some good spanish units and had to check here and there . Zayas division was one of the best spanish unit with guards, walloon guards and so on . So their rating would be a bit higher . And it was Zaya's division that stopped the initial french assault .

Here is the orbat :
4th Division (Zayas) Mourgeon Brigade (Mourgeon) 2nd & 4th Spanish Guards (2 bn total)
2nd and 3rd Irlanda (2 bn total)
Voluntarios de la Patria (1 bn) *
Sappers (1 coy)

Polo Brigade (Polo) Imperiales de Toledo, Legion Estranjeros, Ciudad Real IRs (1 bn each; 3 bn)
1st Walloon Guards (1 bn)
