Late 15th Century Samurai

I am looking at making a late 15th century samurai army. What should I be looking for in the miniatures in regards to equipment (armor, sashimonos?)

I know Essex, 2 dragons, Peter Pig and Old Glory make them which would be more appropriate for this period?

Thanks in advance,

Chris Rivers

I posted this earlier, but it seems to have disappeared.

Go to Eureka miniatures... they are absolutely fantastic miniatures, and the service is first rate.

Yes, I have looked at Eureka also, but have read that they are for an earlier period, more 13th century. Is that correct?

Some are, some aren't... they have (effectively) two ranges. The later are actually post FoG period, but you can subtract the Sashimono if you want to stay 'in period' and it will be close enough, especially in 18mm.

Take a look at http://eurekamin.com.au/product_info.ph ... ts_id=1385

whole range here http://eurekamin.com.au/index.php?cPath=87_102_106

Completely agree,
see in particularly Samurai footmen with katana ……………. Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like also Essex ones.
Two dragoons are sculpted in a good way but are too fat.
Old glory are cheap but not good

This is for exemple a Samurai camp with Eureka figures:

And another one with Essex and Old Glory figures:

Funny you should have posted that Sergio, I bought that exact setup (with the addition of a geisha) last weekend at MOAB :)

Any recommendations or preferences on a 28mm Samurai miniatures?
I'm trying to decide between The Assault Group and Perry Miniatures. Are there any other comparable miniature lines that I should consider in your opinion?
Thanks!

Respectfully,
KEVIN

Sergio

The Eureka camp looks really tasty.

You significant other must be much more tollerant than mine if you are allowed to purchase a geisha as well as toy soldiers while at a convention...

Also, not sure if we are not straying a little off topic...

No doubt, Perry ones are fantastic, the best figures in my opinion.

It may explain why my significant other is now my ex-significant other :(

Which also explains why I'm now a professional wargamer :)

I'm somewhat biased but Kingsford Miniatures has a number of figures in 28mm that could be used for 1500. I feel Perry Miniatures are most definitely suited for 1550-1615 but TAG for 1500 and earlier.

Kingsford also makes a nice line of Ikko Ikki and several Samurai with bow. Lose the banner and they would work fine for 1500

For 28mm Samurai Westwind do some excellent ones with their separate head system.
