I noticed that too, but I've not found out what's causing that. Will have to think up a new function that beams damaged units out and undamaged units into Paris when a fresh unit is in movement range.

the first one could be problem
but it was in drang nach osten, russia allready out of war, advancing through belgium which surrendered -manually declared war to them- , i suspect it was the trigger, as belgium surrender was in lines in front of calling method SetFaction

as it was almost over, i quit and started next game, where i met french changing doctrine played by entente, its such strong? calais, lille, reims and paris had 16 entrenchment level immediately (while verdun 18, przemysl 14), quite overpowered, commanded german army vs lonely french reserve 0:1 fight result prediction... even some plain hexes around paris had 16 entrechment level which combined with winter conditions definitely stopped me, so italians went entente

italian offensive is repeating in like each game where is italy entente and not advancing

ok, its just for italians? or i just didnt notice its for each nation and its failling "offensive"?

on top of that austrian howitzers dont work vs verdun like cities and plain hexes

entrechment 16, maybe u should try to deal with that without austrian howitzers

even fully encircled reserve corps is tough like hell

and its like france full of entrechment 16 hexes if changing doctrine played by ai

clues in files

Austrian howitzers only last for 2 fortresses, manual page 36.

Got the last autosaveendturn too? That would be more helpful.

human played doctrine or warplan xvii dont do it, nor combined

autosave with which conditions? yielded belgium and doctrine/warplan played by ai?

Attached is a scriptfix for the entrenchment issue for that quite special case.

Players can either apply the attached scriptfix or re-download the full mod which is now V12.3a and also fixes an ugly formatting issue in the PDF manual.

if u r talking about special case... entrechment 16 is quite common in france (before that fix), just bit later (slowly growing until 16)

so, this fix all that, or just that sudden entrechment

its just impenetrable by frontal attack, first 3 shooting arties on reserve corps (british with commander), then 3 armies attacked on same spot and it did like no damage, in winter trully no damage

Finished another Schlieffen Plan Modified as the CP and think I finally have a better grasp with how the game works. Serbia was knocked out of the war in early 1915 with Bulgaria entering the war very early which freed up a lot of forces for when Italy entered the war . Figured out how to play the Ottoman's finally and tied down a lot of British and Russian units by 1918 I was having to retreat from Iraq. Russia didn't give me any problems I played the eastern front very aggressively from the start. I almost forced Britain to surrender from U-boat attacks when the U.S entered the war I lost a lot of U-boats during convoy attacks. Italy surrendered at the start of 1918 which freed up extra manpower for the Kaiserschlacht which got within one hex of Paris by the games end. I never came across any bugs or crashes for the entire campaign.

Verdun seems to fall way too easy. It only took two turns to capture using three army corps, three artillery and a zeppelin.

My next game with by trying out the Rupprecht plan which looks interesting.

Been awhile since my last update. I've finished the Rupprecht plan four times now as the Central Powers and each time I ended up with a stalemate on the Western Front. The first game gave me a headache when Italy joined the Entente and Belgium a few turns afterwards. The last game played I managed to knock Russia out of the war in early 1917 due to the A.I leaving the area around Riga wide open during 1915 for some reason. The A.I never seemed to recover after that. The remainder of 1917 was spent building up my forces for a 1918 offensive through France, Belgium (which had stayed neutral) and Italy. I also managed to gather enough Ottoman forces to try for the Suez as well. The offensive was a success knocking Italy out of the war in June, Britain shortly after and France one turn after.

I have started doing some very basic modifying the game. I added a few extra commanders but that seems to be the limit of my abilities.

The AI is notoriously bad at maintaining a wide front so gaps somewhere in Russia are bound to happen, not much that can be done about it besides toning down the effects of the Russian supply crisis event.

If you tell me which modifications and new commanders you would like to see included, I will add them so you won't have to manually re-add your changes after the next update which I've been working on in the meantime.

Fixed the bug but instead of a scriptfix I uploaded the complete new version 12.4.
This should be compatible with old savegames because only minor issues were rewritten.
