Qvadriga on IOS

Post by MesaDon » Mon Jun 16, 2014 3:23 am

Took a chance on this one after the disappointment of Frontline. I must say I am glad I did. Running on an iPad 2 the game runs flawlessly. A very different subject matter and at this time am playing the campaign. Much more depth than at first appearance and it hurts more to see your driver being dragged down the track by his horses than losing a Tiger tank in Battle Academy. Enjoyable game, gave it a 5/5.

Thank you MesaDon, My own iPad2 was used as the main testing device so I can ensure it can bear the game

Hi there. I have been enjoying this a lot so far, despite some minor UI issues. I did notice something last night though that I was curious if it was a bug or not. I am playing in the regular campaign that allows you to resurrect a driver when he dies, right after the race, for a price. Last night my best guy was whipped to death and I did not get the option to bring him back. I have at other times in the same campaign, just not that once. I had more than enough coin. Is it a bug that is causing that option to occasionally not be available or is there another mechanic to it I am not aware of?

Thanks!
Gregory

the save auriga cost increases as auriga skills gets better, specially if you have not permanently hired a doctor. So is the victim was your best charioteer probably you could not save him even with more savings than the original one

It would be nice to have a post explaining some of the details of Auriga recovering, and exactly how the vet/doctor/carpenter specialists help, considering their high cost. Also, a run down of some of the race events, such as "Your auriga is angry and wants to use the whip" (not exactly sure of the wording, since I have only played a few games thus far). I THINK when I got that, it allowed me to use the whip more, without damaging my horses as often, and it also appeared I was able to get a bit more speed than normal from them, but I am uncertain.

as I said at the other thread, that event forbids the use of the "shake reins" order, you can only whip in order to accelerate. If you hire the services of a specialist you get the same recovery results (double speed) as if you were paying their services every time you needed in all of your teams.

Thank you for answering all my questions.

When I write my review on Steam, I will mention how you can not be expected, and should not expect to win or even finish every race. The idea is to sometimes, make the best of a bad situation, and just finish and make a little profit towards the next race. I think people may not be used to the idea of sometimes being in a position where no matter what you do, you cannot win a race. I like that aspect of this game though.

I must admit, I am becoming more and more addicted to this game, as I become more proficient at maneuvering and knowing when to defend and when to push my luck. A sign this is a good game is I wanted to kick that Auriga's butt, who blocked me out of an open inside passing lane! :)
