Improved early US camo (Tunisia/Sicily 1943)
I wanted to show the vehicles wear (eg rust) in addition to the dust of the battle this time.
Did I manage it? :roll:

kondi, first of all thanks for your hard work on the skins, much appreciated by all of us who use them I'm sure. Second, I think they're great and add so much to the game. :!: :!: :!:

I really like (and prefer) skins with dust, mud and wear & tear.

I try as I can. :)
Thanks for the support, it's always nice to know that someone really uses it.

I am glad that you like my job.
The truth is that I have set the bar very high and a lot of skins land in a trash can or on the disk - to be refined later.

I've just started work on improving the German camouflage from the initial period of the war.
Below are screenshots with my proposals for 1940 and 1941.
Does anyone have an idea about what else to do with it? (maybe a sand dust on Barbarossa vehicles? :roll: )
Standard camo from Devs for comparison.

Updated early war camo (1,2), the most difficult is to choose the right color for a simple camouflage. :oops:
I searched for a very long time and finally found something similar to the default skin, but nevertheless closer to the historical reality.
I will continue looking for ...
First concept of Barbarossa skin with sand dust (3), the base color is still to be refined, but the dust on the vehicle's armor is almost what it should be ...

I like those "Fall Barbarossa" skins the most (from both the above posts). You're gonna share them?

I think I created a set of camouflages for Blitzkrieg DLC.
1. Early German camo (dunkelgrau) - mixed with the oil stains from the engines: Mlawa 39 - Greece 41
2. Barbarossa camo - dunkelgrau paint weathered in the sun combined with dust rising over sandy roads: Minsk - Kiev 1941
3. Winter 1941 camo - heavily rusted vehicles with spots of white paint and mud: Moscow 1941

Hello everybody. I have a problem : i download your picture (500 x 500) that i place in the folder C:/......../Content/Graphics/Skins. For example : snow winter alternative_land_germany by kondi 754. Afer, i go to my C:/Content/Data/Skins and i write the skin like this :
[snow winter alternative]
id = 11
texture = german_3
faction = germany, waffen_ss
category = land
When i go to the game, i clik on the letter I for an unit (ex : panzer F1 in sandstorm). I find 2 différents skins but the winter skin is called skin_3. It's the same result with another skin downloaded. I specify that skins work and the camo change. Excuse me for my English but it is known that French speak very badly English. Thank.

I think that you have to have the skin name separated by underscores _ rather than spaces?

You don't have to edit the "skins.txt" as proposed in the OP. Just follow the instructions of the "Tutorial: Create Unit Skins" thread from adherbal.

Hello everybody. After severals tries, i was able to put the skins in french language. Here is my method : i've downloaded the picture desert alternative tunisia by kondi754. I put the picture in C:/oob/.../Content/Graphics/Skins and i named this picture german_2. Then, i go to C:/oob/.../Content/Data and i open skins. I added this :
[GERMAN_ALTERNATIVE_DESERT_2]
id = 9
texture = german_2
faction = germany, waffen_ss, kriegsmarine
category = land
But it doesn't working. Then, i go to C:/oob/.../Content/Language and i find my solution : in french_9 and english_9, i added the line : skin_9 = Désert alternatif (french_9) and skin_9 = Alternative Desert (english_9). I load a saved game and great, it's work. I have a unit (in Sandstorm campaign) and the skin is named Désert alternatif, french language. Thanks, espacially Shards and GabeKnight. I have another question : any skins for italians units ? for kriegsmarine ? for luftwaffe ? Excuse me for my long post. Sorry.

I'm happy that you found solution.
Camo for Italians doesn't work, aircraft and warships - the game designers didn't foresee the use of camouflage (only land vehicles and guns), at least for this moment
Also, infantry units don't have the possibility to change uniforms
