Introduction:
Pike & Shot is a game that set in my favorite historical era, but it always annoys me that the unit graphics are too rough and you can only see a block (which represent pikes) on infantry units.

But now, with the Blender files Richard sent to me a couple months ago, the level of graphic modding is in a new level, I can not only edit textures and can also edit the 3D models themselves. My plan is to completely rework the unit models (at least the infantry ones) in P&S, to make actual weapons (no matter muskets, swords, halberds, bills, two-handed swords, shields, etc.) visible on the in game models. And make the models match the weapons of the according unit.

I will try to finish my plan step by step. This first release version (ver. 0.1) includes 11 new 3D models(most of them are Italian Wars era units) and a couple of new textures, I also made 3 new 2D UI icons for some units.

Feel free to discuss under this thread if you have requests or suggestions (I can't promise I will take them all though).

Also suggest to use Adebar's Improved Zoom mod (viewtopic.php?t=53256) to look closer to the models.

Install Guide:
1. extract the RAR file, place Battle folder and UI folder into your Pike & Shot Campaigns\Data folder.
2*. [OPTIONAL] place Squads.csv into your Pike & Shot Campaigns\Data folder and replace the existed one. I suggest to backup the original file first.

* If you don't do step 2, some of the new 3D models and all of the new 2D icons will not be availble in your game, but the mod will be fully MP compatible.
On the other hand, if you do step 2, all new graphics will be availble in your game. But in MP, if one player has the mod, and the other doesn't, the players would see the "scripts don't match" message every turn. Of course as long as they trust each other and the discrepancy is explained it won't stop the match.

Halberdier, this is my first model with "full" seperated weapon model.
If possible I will make seperated weapon model(replace the "pike block") for pikeman units in the future. But the priority now is to give all units with Heavy Weapon or Sword according visible weapon model.

So just dropping those two folders into battle and ui and replacing files shouldn't negatively effect MP correct?

Yes, no affect to MP at all as long as you don't replace Squads.csv

Edit: oops! you remind me I forgot to include the Squads.csv into the pack. Already re-uploaded it. Check the first post.

This is great!
Any chance you could make a trebuchet model for personal mod?
Just stick a trebuchet with a crew?

I Don't even care if its animated as long as I can associate a sound with it.
I used a map object and the crew from I believe the dismounted dragoon horse holders but I would rather have a trebuchet that turns when I rotate the crew.

How do these affect other battle period mods? Do they use the same models?

Also do can you post a complete list of what has been updated with new models?

Hello, something else I installed this mod, but I do not see the new models showing up, the pike infantry still don't have weapons sticking out or the musketeers. I copied the folders and Squads file to the proper locations,.

Not all models are changed. For testing purpose, could you take a look on Swiss Pike Keil and Landsknecht Pike Keil to see if there is model change?

Hello, thanks for the reply,

I tried but I cannot find those units you mentioned. I did a skirmish and tested the Swedish sides and didn't see any change. Any tips on how I can pick those exact named units? Do I need a specific downloaded campaign?

Also why didn't you change the base game models first for the English war? Those would be the most noticeable.

I also installed you mod per your instructions, so unless there is a step missed in the instructions the new models are installed.

I seen nothing changed on the normal armies that can be picked, so either your models are for just a very few units or something is messed up on installing your mod. You should know if the main game models were changed for the Royals and Parliamentarians? Otherwise you probably did not change their models which is a shame as they are used by most of the game and campaigns made available.
