Turn takes forever

when the computer has to play, it needs a lot of time; with the axis from the invasion of France; with the allies when Russian activates it takes like 7/8 minutes every turn. Is it normal in 4.0? I even try uninstall and reinstal but nothing change.

Are you playing against the AI? GS v4.0 is not written to support the AI, just PBEM or Hotseat. I know some people have completed games using the AI, but it takes a lot of time to complete turns since every move of your opponent is shown to you.

It might be the AI was faster in vanilla CEAW and that some code introduced in GS makes the AI confused since it's not coded how to handle new rules. E. g. the amphibious invasion rules are changed completely and the AI doesn't know about that. New unit types are introduced so the AI won't know how to build these.

One reason we never bothered to deal with the AI was that it was so poor in vanilla CEAW it would have been a huge task creating an AI that could handle all the rules in GS. There is no challenge in playing against the AI since it's so poor. E. g. if you play the Allies you can prevent the Axis AI from taking France at all in 1940. The AI doesn't know how to break a double defense line.
