After 67 edited screenshots and nine pages of text, the Battle of Guadalcanal has finished.

There was a titanic conflict between two huge Japanese surface fleets, US Marine Air Corps, and the US Navy.

Like reality, this scenario was a long, huge battle of attrition the Japs lost.

Battle of the Philippine Sea concludes:

This update introduces scout pilot "Mewler" and his belief in the Scout Pilot Death Dance by Captain Skull.

On a happier note, there are only three scenarios left in this campaign! :)

The Battle of the Philippines is over with a US Victory 25 turns early (with a 50 turn deadline)!

A shocking revelation was made about General Wrigley's forced retirement by Pentagon enemies.

Part 1 of Scenario 11: Okinawa

Below is a link to my strategy and the results of the first three turns. I plan to finish this scenario and the invasion of Japan (the last scenario in this campaign) before the end of the year.

https://averysgameblog.wordpress.com/20 ... 1-okinawa/

I did not update the game blog for three months for all sorts of reasons. This is a hobby and not a job. My wife and I went on a two week transatlantic cruise. But most importantly my wife suddenly went 100% deaf in one ear and had vertigo for several days. The hearing loss is permanent and nothing can be done. This is a mystery to medical science.

Because of my extensive training and knowledge of statistics including medical statistics, I read the summary literature on her problem. She got the right treatment very fast. But this problem is one of the hardest to set up a medical study for that I've ever seen - a thought shared by three different physicians including two specialists.

She will never be able to tell the direction of sound again. She has great difficulty understanding people talking if there is much background noise. Our days of going to concerts is over and she needs to avoid anything that can damage her good ear so she will not be pulling clays for me shooting shotguns any longer.

Just one of those things that happens as people get older and there are a lot of things that could be worse.

The Imperial Palace has been captured after 2 A-Bombs were dropped. The AAR is complete!

This took a little under a year to finish. I hope you enjoyed reading it. I'm working on a strategy guide for the campaign.

Where did you get all the prestige? There is no income at the Bataan scenario if I don't have a bug or something in my game. I used the Big Gun to destroy more than 10 points of damage on the Japanese, that worked. But I see your screenshots will units in the end game at full strength and that just isn't really possible without using the cheats. Just wondering how to interpret these AAR's, thanks.

AB,

Thanks for posting the links to your blog with AAR's for the Pacific Campaign.

Looking at some of your screenshots, it looks like you did the play through on Difficulty 2 out 5 (I forget the name, maybe Lieutenant or some such), so my results varied a bit from yours because I played it on Difficulty 3 out 5. None the less, I believe the take away here for folks should be your thought process with initial deployment, unit selection, and target selection. I believe players will be well served to review your information and then adapt if they play on a different difficulty setting.

Thanks again for all your work. Job well done.
