Unfortunately, there’s a chance it won’t. I think there would be too many "artistic differences" to make one big mod work.
Erik, I took a look at your naval-mod suggestion from the Excel file, and I can not incorporate something that drastic into my mod, sorry.
Believe me that 8-hex movements for DD and CA and (over) 20-hex-ranges for planes would not work well with stuff balanced to stock content. For example, any aircraft could vitually attack any unit on the map and BBs couldn't "hide" behind DD screens anymore and would be constantly attacked by torpedoes. And as ship's speeds affect damage mechanics, I'm not sure how that would work for larger vessels - it may be too difficult to damage them then. Some of the 2-turn fuel settings for planes would have to be amended, too.
Still, your suggestions could work well with your US Naval campaign and mid-size maps with many water hexes, though. Tell me if or when you're ready to resume work on the US Naval and I could provide a mod for that specific campaign, if you'd like. That way, you could test it and decide if you like it or not.

Final version of the "Class Icons upgrade":
Black is better (classier for the class), I used the class icons the game uses for the strategic maps (with differents colors for the players).
Did you notice the cute miniature icons when the planes landed (2 fighters and 1 tactical bomber in the middle) ?

Class Icons upgrade notes
I always find it difficult to recognize the different types of aircraft and their names don’t remind me of much sometimes. This is especially true for enemy aircraft, we have little information available in the UI.
From now on with my Class Icon mod, it will be possible to recognize the class of the aircraft immediately This is one of the reasons I created this mod.
