To my knowledge, it should have used use the original unit's picture.
If you want to use the same pic, you have to use the same name in the units.csv file.
(The ID is the only value that has to be unique inside the units file.)

Aha, I see that your F9F Panther has its own textures file etc.
Fixed & thanks.

I downloaded Korea 1.4 today and I noticed something that may be contributing to the lockups....

When I copied the "Korea" folder it said it was copying 666 files

Or is this your way of reflecting the "Hell of Korea"? :)

The number of the beast...how appropriate  My Korea folder has 'only' 584 files (in 82 folders). I would delete the old folder whenever you update.
I'll check if it is possible to delete any files/folders.

This mod is of course work-in-progress and for now I prefer to have only 1 download package.
At some point I'll probably split the download into mod and separate campaign links.

Still very much enjoying your Korea pt. 1 campaign but with a few non lockup issues in a few scenarios.

In 08Changsa - The scenario completed after about 12 turns but before I'd evacuated any units so both secondary victory conditions failed.

In 09 Inchon - This was a VERY challenging scenario that I thought might be impossible in 24 turns. (It think it still is on initial playthrough due to the chained exit victory conditions and all the pillboxes, minefields etc). I was able to complete it in regulation but could not get the "Exit West" secondary victory condition to complete no matter what I did. It seems to be keyed to the required hex ownership conditions. I could exit et all 3 hexes in control and 5+ Marine units through there and still it would not complete. I did not get it to complete successfully until I edited the scenario to remove the hex ownership conditions for the West Exit secondary. The East Exit secondary works as designed.

Korea is certainly not may area of expertise from my reading but from what I've read, you've nailed the flavor of it completely! I'd rank it in one of the top 3 of the best OOB campaigns overall.

The top 3 would be:

1. The Original Pacific Campaign
2. The USMC Campaign (especially after I modded it to include an increased difficulty Okinawa)
3. Your Korea pt1 Campaign

Your US Corps 1-3 with some tweaking could be a candidate for #4. I did like your collaboration with Bru for the British/Canadian campaign but felt that some of the scenarios were downright unwindable in the allotted time. That was part time constraint, part AI and the insanely overpowered German units. (especially SS German Self propelled artillery).

Keep up the grand work!

I think Balck is still banned on these forums.

Anyway, adding helicopters would have to be done by someone else than me. I have no graphic and barely any other mod skills

"The victim"

The film is a kind of structural allusion to Nolan's Dunkirk. There is one event that lasts less than a day and that is shown from several angles.
The plot is like this-in the summer of 1953, Chinese volunteers and North Koreans are attacking the Americans and South Koreans. The Chinese infantry division command set the task - in the conditions of complete domination of American aircraft in the air to cross the river and by the morning of the next day to concentrate on the other bank to strike.
The problem is that all the bridges are destroyed, you can't swim across the river because of the strong current, so the whole division must be transported over a narrow makeshift bridge, on which 3-4 people can walk in a row, and you still need to drag ammunition and various military goods.
To cover the crossing of an entire division, the Chinese have only two 37-mm anti-aircraft guns with limited ammunition. There is no aviation cover at all.
The Americans know about the bridge and cover it with artillery, attack with fighters and bomb with bombers. The Chinese, after the next damage, rebuild the bridge over and over again, simultaneously covering the Americans with "Katyushas". In the end, the bridge was burned with incendiary bombs along with people, but the Chinese did not lose their heads and built a bridge of people, on which the division crossed the river (losing up to a hundred dead offhand), concentrating on the planned time for the attack. In the end, just like in "28 Panfilovites", the images of the Chinese as the pillars of the bridge turn into a monument. The end. Seriously, this is the whole movie.

I don't know...
But even if the models could be used in OOB I think they would have to look similar to the stock models.
And there's also the question of getting permission to use them.

Anyway, I've purchased the Theatre of War collection simply to check it out. Thanks for the link.

This is a thank you that at the end at least someone breaks us off from WWII and does something about other military conflicts based on the original game ;)

Thank you, uzbek.

I have material for three more Korean campaigns, but I will wait with the next one until an update of OOB is published. I hope this will fix the current 9.0.0 random hangs & crashes.
Also, at some point I will probably need new unit types that are not covered in the current mod. And I will need help from a grownup to create new unit models.

On a side note. I'm toying with the idea of creating a 1948 Arab/Israel campaign. I think the combatants mostly used US/Soviet WW2 equipment.

According to the first paragraph it is clear yes I hope there will still be new patches )

On account of the 1948 Arab / Israel campaign great idea ) moreover many of the units that participated there are in the original game and do not have to wait until they make new ones )

Erik, thanks for all the fine work you have done with this game. You have provided us with hundreds of hours of enjoyment. I especially appreciate your Korean War mods which have renewed my hopes for more modern adaptions using the OOB system. Let's see, the 1st Indochina war was in 1946 - 1954, I believe...hint, hint. Keep up the great work.

Thank you.

I do have the material for a French Dien Bien Phu campaign of sorts...but this would need a Vietnam mod with new factions etc.
