Just purchased, trouble loading

Hi, I am just posting this as a general question concerning downloading and installing this game I recently purchased. After the download comes into my computer, I am requested to buy and install WInZip and do some kind of unzipping and dragging the file so that I can stall the game. (I already have a help desk ticket in at Matrix Games through whom I purchased the game and they are trying to help me). Is this going to become a standard method of installation of new games? Whatever happened to the download and install. I will be the first to admit that I am completely computer stupid and now matter how many times I have tried to unzip, compress, uncompress, drag to someplace that I have no idea where, I just get lost and frustrated. Is there something hidden in plain sight that I am overlooking, and why do I have to buy something extra, (WinZip), to get a new game? Would it be less hassle buying the game off of here or Steam as opposed to Matrix, where I have been buying all my games for several years? Thanks for your time.

If you are running Windows 7, 8 or 10 you have built-in unzipping (don't remember if XP had that or not). So you don't need to buy WinZip or any other unzip utility. There are two files in the zip you downloaded and you simply need to unzip them to the same location and double click on the exe file and your game will install. Should you need a zip utility there are several free for download (Peazip and 7 Zip come to mind).

As I have told you in the tech support ticket, if the size of the game file installer is bigger than 2GB, then we absolutely have to zip it, otherwise some systems will not be able to download it and save it.
This is not the first game that we have to zip, nor will be the last.

Consider the use of Steam for installing and playing some of the games, as Polaris for example. Maybe will be easier for you.
