MOD - Levelling up units

Hi, I have been having good fun with the campaign editor and creating custom missons and have worked out a lot of the basics such as adding objective points and re-inforcements etc. I'm however having a bit more problems with persistant scenarios allowing units to level up and editing custom units to pre-start them with existing abilities.

Is anyone able to offer some suggestions if I am missing something?

1) Create multi custom campaign mod that allows units to level up in between missions.

I have tried copying existing script from pre-built campaigns into my custom campaign campaign.txt file but it does not seem to be doing anything when I play the misson.

2) I have added custom abilities to a custom"Sanctus_Wolves_Abilities" from Abilities.BSF but this does not seem to be working either.
