Screen flickers sometimes

Hello,
I installed the game yesterday and have the following problem. While playing (not in menus) the screen will go dark grey for one frame, then back to normal.
I cannot reproduce the problem, it happens 2-3 times per minute. So far I tried to lower den refresh rate of my monitor from 144hz to 60hz, tried to lower all graphic settings in game and installed the newest driver for my graphics card (416.34).
System:
Windows 10 x64
i5 4690 @ 3.50GHz
MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4G
8GB RAM

welcome to the forum and sorry for your issue, without a full report it's harder to say what could be an issue tbh

How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:

1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

so once you have a report, add it to a zip file and attach it to a reply and someone will take a look and see if anything stands out as odd etc

Msi Command Center crashes a lot or so it says in the event logs at the bottom of the post,

for me, do a clean start up and retest

and when i mean clean, the least amount of apps loaded each and every start, so all you need is steam and your AV, plus sound drivers and not the MSI app etc and or anything else and see if it works as designed / better etc

MSIDDRService.exe or Msi Command Center is a resource hog and will take quite a high % of your CPU and Memory away from you, resulting in spikes or crashes, it's a known issue with it and is posted on there forums for certain version, for most, it's just not needed, so either disable it at startup or uninstall, or try a later version but if that conflicts as well, best to not have it etc either enabled while gaming or loaded at all imo,...

Ok,
I deleted MSI Command Center (didn't even know it was there...), I deactivated every autostart, rebooted, and startet A'11 first, same problem.

ok, can you post the output log file and check to see if there's anything in the crash folder also, if so post that thanks

it's a hidden folder, so you will need to un hide the directory and also add in your on name in the picture posted, or you won't get the correct place etc

thanks, will need the developer to comment on the log as all i found is a reference to a joystick, so while waiting for them to comment, can you unplug any external USB devices and see if it makes any difference, thanks

Alright, unplugged everything except for mouse and keyboard, same problem.

Have you tried in windowed mode?

Yes I have tried that, I also tried to change the resolution and the refresh rate ingame, same problem every time.

Are you playing the Steam or the stand alone version?

It is the Steam version.

Do you have Steam overlay enabled? If so please try disabling it.

Disabled Steam Overlay, same problem.
I noticed the flicker is indeed reproducable. Everytime I open a menu of a base to buy units, it flickers after closing the menu.

Hi Esoterik, did you ever find an answer to this question? I have the same issue, every time I close a menu the screen flickers for a moment. Happens every time. Perhaps you have learned something?
