Field of Glory II: Immortal Fire announced!
Field of Glory II: Immortal Fire announced!
Centuries before the Rise of Rome, the Ancient World saw the confrontation between the City-States in Greece and the mighty Achaemenid Persian Empire.
“Play your part in the epic events unfolding during this era, including the conquest of the Lydian Empire (in western Asia Minor) by the expanding Achaemenid Persian Empire, the Persian Wars, in which the Greeks of mainland Greece defeated two Persian invasions, the subsequent wars between the victorious Greek city states, the development of a new military system by Philip II of Macedon, his conquest of Greece, the invasion and conquest of the Persian Empire by his son Alexander the Great, and his campaigns beyond Persia into India.”
Field of Glory II: Immortal Fire brings you 8 new factions (Achaemenid Persians, Etruscans, Antigonos, Lysimachos, Spartans, Latins, Lydians, Kyrenean Greeks, Thessalian Greeks), 10 new units (including the fearsome Persian Immortals) and 30 new army lists!
In addition, this expansion brings 4 new historically-based campaigns and one what-if campaign: Alexander the Great (what he might have done next if he had not died in 323 BC).

looks interesting
Re: Field of Glory II: Immortal Fire announced!
I must buy this. I applaud the inclusion of ten epic battles, including all of Alexanders. And the campaign selection is different and interesting.
This series looks like it will be the best game on tactical ancient warfare that was ever done, and the most comprehensive.

When may we expect it to be released?
Re: Field of Glory II: Immortal Fire announced!
That was quick still getting to grips with the base game. No that I'm complaining, looks great!
Re: Field of Glory II: Immortal Fire announced!
Must add that the almost instantaneous support and responses and willingness to discuss the game by Richard/Slitherine just add to the confidence that further updates and expansions will deliver the goods and improve the game as well.peter01 wrote:A must buy, looks fabulous and with lots of new content. Nice, expect it arrive soon™ at least into my coupon moment in december
A little question, for certain motives i have FOG II in steam version, you can buy the army pack in Slitherine/matrix and claim the serial for Steam??? i plan buy the base game in a near future in Slitherine-matrix but in the correct moment
Expect next army list be medieval and leave the last big ancient army list after getting medieval on our ass

Sorry, but why the Thebans/Beotians do not put into a separate army?rbodleyscott wrote: The following Greek lists are included.

What about the deep Theban phalanx with a depth of 50 ranks?
In many wargame systems the Thebans is a separate army.
In addition, the equipment of the Thebans and images on the shields different from the other Greeks.
Give us more variety from the Greeks, please!

Re: Field of Glory II: Immortal Fire announced!
Well we can't really have 50 ranks deep units, because they would be 12 ranks of models deep and would not fit on the square. So even if we did have some deeper units for Thebans, they would still need to be several units deep to represent 50 ranks. The effect of this is probably best represented by custom POAs in the scenario script of a Leuktra scenario, rather than in the vanilla army lists.XOPT13 wrote:Sorry, but why the Thebans/Beotians do not put into a separate army?

I would think you would basically have the same effect by placing one phalanx behind another.

Etruscans are finaly in the game, sweet. I missed them when I noticed that the Samnites, Umbrians, Lucanians, Apulians, Campanians and the so called Hill Tribes were in the game. It's probably a good time to start learning how to make a custom campaign by using the editor.
Well, I'll sure try with the Etruscans. Will you rewrite history?
