If you take part in the Open Beta you can see. TT mod textures are used in Rise of Rome army lists where appropriate (Ptolemaic, Macedonian, Pyrrhic, Bactrian). The Seleucids use the vanilla models (a) because they are historically accurate for Seleucids. those seleucid chalkaspdies (tt mod) s really look and sound good, perhaps one of the best looking units in the entire game
We haven't always use the TT mod textures for the same nations in the main game as Paul used them for in TT Mod, and Paul has kindly adjusted their dress where necessary to be appropriate for the new use. Note that relatively little is known about the specific shield patterns used historically by the different kingdoms, most information comes from coins, which are obviously monochrome, and most of the patterns shown are very similar anyway. In particular there is no historical information about Ptolemaic shield patterns. The use of different textures for the different diadochi kingdoms is therefore artistic licence. The original vanilla textures were based on the distinction between Argyrapidae, Chalcaspidae and Leukaspidae.
