Inspired by the recent discussions about the "optimal" scoring system providing the "best" incentives, a change to how points are allocated will be applied on all challenges made from now on (currently active games will still keep the old scoring mechanism, with 1p for a win and 0p otherwise):
Needless to say, reporting the result will now also require the actual casualties (with inflicted casualties specified in same order as the player), e.g.:
- Players will now be allocated points as follows:
- for winning player: 4p plus 2p if suffering 0-4% casualties and plus 1p if suffering 5-9% casualties.
- for drawing or losing player: 0p if inflicting 0-14% casualties, 1p if inflicting 15-29% casualties, 2p if inflicting 30-44% casualties, 3p if inflicting 45+% casualties.
Needless to say, reporting the result will now also require the actual casualties (with inflicted casualties specified in same order as the player), e.g.:
- 7 kronenblatt Navarrese 900-1049 AD lost against 5 TomoeGozen Scots 851-1051 AD 15-45.

- 7 kronenblatt Navarrese 900-1049 AD drew with 5 TomoeGozen Scots 851-1051 AD 30-45.

I think it would be more rational to adjust the winner's bonus relative to what the loser can earn.
Thus, 3-0 for less than 15%, 2-1 for 15-29%, 1-2 for 30-44% and 0-3 for 45+.
For example:
40-0 would result in a 7-0 score.
45-20 would result in a 6-1 score.
60-50 would result in a 4-3 score.
45-45 would result in a 3-3 score.

Expecting waves of horse archers, we deployed our heavy foot in a long line anchored by villages on each flank with a large woods further screening our left and a pond overlooked by a small hill securing our right. We put massed bow in each village and deployed our archer and slingers in the woods on our left backed up by half a dozen medium foot. On our far right lay another woods where we placed a handful of javelins to harry any horse who happened by. Our cavalry we held in reserve in a line behind our infantry.
The Khazars surprised us by bringing a bit of foot; some guard spear and a couple of bowmen screened by some light foot. They had a lot of horse archers supported by a handful of lancers accompanied by a few light horse archers.
The Khazars swept forward and particularly focused on turning my right and clearing the villages. Their infantry moved up to provide fire support against my infantry line. I shifted a few of my foot to secure the hill guarding my right, redeploying the cavalry there into the reserve. I brought my javelinmen out of the woods and harassed the cavalry moving up on my right. He detached a handful of horse to deal with these, killing a couple, but tying up his troops for a few turn in the process. My right wing village was subjected to a massive barrage of fire for several turns and my bowmen eventually died.
We launched our counterattack; Our spears surged forward all along the line driving his horse archers off in various directions and we engaged and overwhelmed his handful of supporting foot. Our massed medium foot charged out of the woods on our left chasing his horse archers further away and turning the enemy right. Our cavalry advanced in support of our foot, sometime catching, more often further scattering his horse. We lost a few units who pursued beyond support, but, despite a last minute rally just before night fell, we finally destroyed or chased off enough for his army to finally break.
