[Suggestion] Attack button

Post by Zak0r »

Could you add a button for every unit for an attack order? It could possibly resolve a problem in MP with simultaneous turns. Right now you can only click on a tile with a unit and then hope the unit is still there when the order goes through. Sometimes the other player has already moved and your unit ends up moving to the tile instead of attacking it. If you could give a specific attack order that would simply cancel if the tile is empty you could save MP players a lot of frustration.

Also please add a chat in lobby and ingame. :D

Ok thanks for the suggestion,. Maybe an alternative would be that if an attack order is issues and the target moves, the order is cancelled?

I don't know if that isn't the case already, as in: If you give an attack order at the end of the turn but the enemy moves first because the orders are processes one after the other then your unit won't attack. Maybe someone can clarify.

But you still have to think of the human reaction time: When you already have the cursor on the enemy unit and it moves right in that moment you often still click on the tile because either your screen was still showing the unit there or your brain reacted too slowly. :D The beginning of a new turn is often a critical moment in battle where in extreme cases milliseconds can decide the outcome of a whole confrontation if for example your strongest unit runs out of the woods to be slaughtered instantly instead of killing a damaged enemy unit or an artillery unit drives to the frontline instead of shooting from afar.

We had such a case in the livestream with Lorenz and Writing Bull where Writing Bull and I issued orders at the same time and he tried to attack my Warboss (who got orders to retreat away from ranged fire) with his Lord but instead the Lord moved to the empty tile and was subsequently slaughtered before he could do any damage.
