Division B
Karvon - Arab (Conquest) 638-684 AD defeated paulmcneil - Dailami 928-1055 AD with Armenian 885-1045 AD 43-5 for a 4-0 victory.
Battle was joined in desert farming district. A large series of enclosed fields surrounded a couple of villages in about the about the center of the Arab side of the field. A large area of rough lay to the left of that with another large farming area just beyond. A large hill looked down the rough stretching towards the Dailami side. Flat plains extended beyond and to the right of the central farming district. A large grove of trees filled the far right corner of the field.
We brought a full contingent of our spearmen, supported by single Dialami foot, a pair of massed bow, and half a dozen light foot. In addition to our Moslem lancers, we brought a Bedouin lancer, a couple of camels and a pair of Bedouin light lancers. I expected the Dailami to send their medium foot around our left over the hill and through the rough ground and then into the farming complex. I figured their mounted would screen the left of the advance in the open plains. I Initially deployed all my infantry in or behind the central farming area with my cavalry and camels behind them in reserve. My light foot and horse were strung out in a loose skirmish line from in front of the fields off to my right.
The Dailami deployed about as I expected and began a steady shifting of his mediums to his right to advance over the hill and through the rough. His cavalry shifted left and advanced to confront my skirmish line. His elephant advanced in support of his horse. In response, I shifted half of my spears to my right out of the enclosures with my mounted force shifted behind them and still as a reserve of sorts. My lights skirmished at a distance from his horse and elephants. I likewise began moving my massed bow to support my advance on my right. The remaining spears redeployed to defend the perimeter of the farm.
On the right, my spears and lancers chased most of his left wing cavalry back, while my lights swarmed around his isolated elephant and slowly whittle it down. My camels helped my lights chase off or destroy his lights. On my left, the Dailami foot slowly worked its way to positions along the left side of the enclosures and launched its assault. This devolved into a protracted slugging match; a couple of his units destroyed themselves against the walls and ditches, but his superior numbers allowed him to feed more in to slowly surround and attempt to grind down my spear.
On the right, our lights and camels saw of his lights and began shifting left to threaten flanks or pursue his routers. Other spear pressed on after his retiring and fragmented horse to keep them out of the fight. His surrounded elephant finally collapsed as did a couple of his caught cavalry and my lancers and spear wheeled on the exposed left and rear of the Dailami engaged with my spear in the fields. At this the Dailami had enough and fled for home.
The final scene...

Jack-3kBattery - Papal 1200-1319 AD with Italian (Guelf) 1200-1319 AD allies defeats Tratmot - German (South East) 1155-1199 AD 57-4
The Papal Medium Foot were able to take control of the center rough terrain and served as a flanking threat while at the same time providing cover for the Papal Crossbows to shoot on the German Knights. The German Massed Crossbows and Bows were unable to shoot with full force as the Papal skirmishers served as a screen for The Papal Knights who charged down the Crossbows eventually leading to the Germans being overwhelmed.
