Division B
Morat (German) beat lunecastle (Aragonese) 62-40
Battle of manoeuvre across a field split by a river with hills on the left. Aragonese sought to flank on the left, but were thwarted by bows and infantry. On the right the German line held until forces from the centre and the victorious German forces on the left could join. Closely fought throughout - certainly felt much much closer than the final score might suggest.
Many thanks to lunecastle for a great and hard fought battle.

Division A
Aetius39 (Carthaginians with Greeks) defeats Morbio (Carthaginians with Spanish) 43-17
Both sides moved up to a short, thin hill in the center. The Carthaginians with Greeks allies managed to break a few early and that started a chain reaction that lead to the rout, although the right side was hurting and could have been a bit of trouble if things kept going on. GG and thanks for playing!^^

Re: Kroche has won Biblical Division D!
Cheers, it was a good league with lots of close matches. Hopefully Badger73 can take some comfort in taking 6 points off me

Division D
Kroche (Carthaginian 262-236BC) defeated edb1815 (Samnite 355-272 BC with Gallic 300-101 BC allies) 42-12
The Carthaginian tactic of holding the centre line against each and every charge of Samnite and Gallic impact foot and then disrupt their opponents in the first melee worked to perfection and may be used in future battles An inconclusive cavalry skirmish was fought on the left and a Samnite ambush on the right was looking dangerous but came too late to change their defeat in the centre. GG to edb1815 who is due better fortune in his next fight.

Division A
Stew101 - Achaemenid Persian 480-461 BC with Greek 680-461 BC allies defeats Questar17 - Pergamene 190-129 BC with Greek 227-146 BC allies 66 - 40
This was a great game, most enjoyable of this years DL.
One flank of the map was closed off with another ocean (seem to have seen loads of those recently), but the dominate feature was a 5x5 difficult hill in the centre of the Persian line. The best archer platform they had this season.
The Pergamese deployed in a tight formation on their right, against the ocean, with a horde of good quality lights to screen their heavy foot.
They carefully advanced through a couple of pieces of rough, then set about catching some isolated Persian units on the Persian left.
Meanwhile the Persian right swung forward, hinged on their hill and began to get the better of the missile fight in the centre.
This forced the Pergamese to try to shift their troops to their left.
In doing so they exposed themselves to fire from the Persians hill.
The Persians were able to switch the concentration of fire from their hill at critical times, to the left and centre.
This allowed them to strip the supports from a couple of pike blocks, who succumbed before there friends could arrive from the right.
Thanks to Questar for a really fun game.

Stew101 - Indian Hindu North 600-1049 AD with Indian Rajput 650 – 1049 AD allies defeats tyronec - Dailami 928-1055 AD with Khorasanian 821-1003 AD allies 43 - 17.
Well apparently impact MI don't like massed bowmen, elephants and lancers.
The Indians surrendered the high ground on their left and centre to the Khorasanian foot, in a steady holding action.
Meanwhile they massed most of their forces and all their elephants on their right centre, just off the high ground.
This force took on and broke the Khorasanian foot that were to their front, which also allowed them to flank and break the couple of elephants their opponents had brought along.
My thanks to Tyrone for another enjoyable game.
Not the usual intricate movements for an advantage, we usually see in our matches.
Because 'ELEPHANTS DON'T DANCE' !

Division B
Morat (Sarmatian) beat batesmotel (Roman) 49-13
Sarmatian pressed hard on the right and used a mixture or horse and a conveniently placed marsh to shield the left. Warbands held up well against the legions (with some good fortune at times) and, combined with the lancers, managed to break on the right and the centre before the left folded.
Thanks to batesmotel for a good fight - much closer throughout than the score suggests.
