Division B
Captainwaltersavage - Portuguese 1200-1319 AD with Berber (Marinid) 1244-1319 AD allies defeats paulmcneil - Armenian (Cilician) 1100-1154 AD with Seljuq Turkish (West) 1037-1154 AD allies 53:27
Never having fought this army before I was not sure what to expect. Lots of different options but the wide open terrain on the left of the battlefield was always going to tempt the use of cavalry. Hills rough ground and forests in the centre made for a crucible of confusion. There was lots of manoeuvre and desperate last stands and fortuitous flanking. The Seljuk Veteran Dailami ripped through the centre of my formation. One unit of my Veteran spears marched backwards and forwards behind the front line, and never took or received a blow during the entire battle. Somehow the Portuguese were victorious Credit goes to the city knights who stood up extremely well against the Armenian cavalry and also helped smash the medium and infantry and massed archers who were caught mid-manoeuvre on a hill. A very exciting game.

DocVanNostrand - Thracian (Getae) 279 BC-46 AD with Dacian 50 BC-88 AD allies (1600) defeats MarcoCato75 - Roman 105-25 BC with Numidian/Moorish 55 BC-6 AD allies (1600) 60-55
I think this was the hardest fought and closest battle either of us have ever played and clearly could have gone either way - in the end the Thracians were rescued only by some timely rallies. Well played Marco!

Badger73 (Palmyran 258-273 AD) eked out a win against olddog52 (Dacian 89-106 AD with Sarmatian 25-375 AD allies) 64-56
An epic contest on the field of glory. The battle see-sawed back and forth until its bitter end. Superb opponent; hard fought match.

Captainwaltersavage Chinese (Chen) 557-589 defeats Joggy Chinese (Sui) 582-617 AD 62:38
Another swirling chaos match. At the end of the battle there were more enemy cavalry behind my nominal frontline than in front. Glad to say that none of them yet had free reign and they were being shot at by archers and artillery, or mobbed by spearmen. The whole battle swung back and forwards as there were chain routs on both sides. My backstop reserve managed to do the business and drive off the most threatening attack (which might have broken me with different luck). Another entertaining game - thanks to Joggy.

GraftMalt (German 933-1049 AD with Polish 966-1057 AD allies) beats Darkwater247 (Norman 923-1040 AD with French 888-1049 AD allies) 61-49
Great Game - the Germans broke through the left side of the center but got under pressure from superior cav on their right. Thankfully they could roll up the left flank before the cav was able to break through. Good Game and not much left of both armies

harveylh - Irish 900-1049 AD defeats XLegione - Andalusian 756-1049 AD, 63-50
On a fairly open map the battle initially favored the Andalusians but it rapidly swung back in favor of the Irish. An Andalusian counterattack and skillful use of light horse keep the score close.
