Division D
Blagrot - Carthage (Hannibal in Italy) 216-203 BC with Samnite 355-272 BC allies beat random27 - Seleucid 166-125 BC with Parthian 250 BC-225 AD allies 59% - 34%
The Cataphracts should be taken out and shot and replaced with the light horse in the main battle line, the failure of the first wave of catas to break through resulted in them getting introduced to the business end of an elephant and the flanks exposed by their collapse let me roll up much of the Seleucid line. Thanks for the game

Re: MadMaxBot has won Early Middle Ages Division E!
Thank you gentlemen. I have to give much credit to the great Byzantines with their Arab allies. The heavy footmen raw archers that only cost 27 points. The Arab medium footmen that rounded out the Byzantines & allowed them to battle in rough/swamp/& wooded terrain. Also the Muslim lancers that at 36 points & only protected armor, fought hoof to hoof against far superior armored Lancers yet were victorious many times. Not all armies are created equal & this army pick is a joy to use.
Re: Just over 2 weeks left in the tournament now!
Actually, I had issued the challenge, and the game is in progress. If there is a second challenge, it should be removed.stockwellpete wrote: ↑Thu Apr 01, 2021 11:30 am Early Middle Ages (12)

Delbruck and Malabar26 have tied at the top of Classical Antiquity Division F!
A very rare occurrence! Delbruck with his Achaemenid army and Malabar26 with his Thracian army have both won 7 matches and drawn 2 to share the automatic promotion place in Classical Antiquity Division F. Their match together was a draw. Both players will be promoted. Well played Delbruck and Malabar26.

Division A
XLegione - Teutonic Order 1226-1319 AD with Polish 1200-1319 AD allies defeated Nosy_Rat - Hungarian 1200-1319 AD with Tatar 1241-1339 AD allies, 41 % - 0%
At last a victory!
It was a strange battle, for some turns nothing happened, both sides remained in strong defensive position, when the Hungarian leaved the initial deployment also Teutonic decided to fight the battle! It was strange to see a total withdraw of the hungarian. Teutonic got the moment and pursued the enemies until the limit of the battle ground, at the last turn they got the victory.
Thanks for the game.

Division F
Malabar26 (Rajput) defeats Josey Wales (Anglo-Saxon) 45-4
A large hill flanked by forests on both side initially lead the Anglo-Saxon to believe they held a very defensible position. As the first volleys of arrows fell on their heads, they quickly realized they trapped themselves. The shieldwall pushed forward but it was too late. The piece was set.
Thanks for the game.

Division A
Triarii - Kingdom of Soissons 461-486 AD with Germanic Foot Tribe 260-599 AD allies defeats nyczar - Roman 285-312 AD with Frankish 260-495 allies 44-7
The Roman and Frankish quality were left in the centre with with too much open space to advance into against poorer but more numerous warbands and Roman militia - that continued until a cavalry heavy flanking attack sent the Roman and Frankish left homewards and allowed the centre to be enveloped.
Thanks to nyczar for the game.
