Geffalrus (Antigonids) beat lydianed (Gallic) 58-30. Very good game to my opponent.

The battlefield was heavily restricted by a mountain range along the left side of the map. Fortunately the ground was flat enough for our pikes and warbands to be quite happy about fighting each other. Our infantry lines collided while the cavalry hung back in the rear. I had some initial success on my right flank, before an elephant unit rolled very poorly vs. a warband and broke in two combats. This disrupted the other elephant, who was then flank charged by the warband. This in turn Disrupted part of my phalanx, who were in turn flank charged by the rampaging hero warband. At which point, my CinC died trying to rally a pike unit and pretty much that entire section of the army broke and ran.

Fortunately, the other flank was unaffected, and I was able use my light cavalry to finish breaking the fragmented warbands that had been saved by the collapse of my pike line. At the end of the day, my Xystophoroi cavalry were able to do a bit more damage than the Gallic Noble cavalry, and I inched my way over the victory threshold. Definitely a stressful affair.

See if you can spot what's about to go terribly wrong for me.........

It has actually changed slightly to 550-461 BC, but it is definitely in the TT mod V1.5.3. - I have put up a dummy Syracuse v Syracuse challenge in the MP lobby just to show you.

How many turns did you play in three days ? 40-8 is a totally defeat for Mike.

Hi to those who have posted challenges against me. The game won't let me except anymore challenges as it says that I have excepted too many today. Problem is it is already in the second day without allowing me to accept any more. I will continue to try and hopefully it resets itself.

Group 2 (Alexander's Conquests)

Geffalrus (Thracian Triballi) defeated MikeMarchant (Indians) 45-4 ..... good game to my opponent who was dealt some truly terrible elephant luck.

The Thracian Triballi arrived in India as an allied force within Alexander's conquering army. Splitting off to partake in the plundering of a local Hindu temple, the warbands were blocked by a large force of elephants and archers. Both sides formed up, with the Indian army adopting a thin center of elephants and archers, while weighting the wings with melee infantry, cavalry, and more archers. Screened by a mass of peltasts, the warbands charged forward and tied up the elephants just long enough for reserve units of Thracian spears to infiltrate the melee and flank the elephants. In the space of two turns of combat, 5 elephant units chain routed and sent the Indian center into flight. Sadly, most of the Thracian army died of exotic bowel ailments that were the result of over-eating local curry in the battle's aftermath.

Things start to go badly for the elephants as the Thracians activate a Zerg swarm maneuver......
