Late Antiquity Division C for Cunning
Barrold713 (Numidian/Moorish) defeats Troglius (Dacian) 62-47
My cloud of skirmishers annoyed the Dacians to death for almost 20 turns before I fumbled through an attack that I did not think would succeed. Tying the warbands up enough to hit with my weaker units on the flanks proved to be the difference. I almost want to apologize for being annoying. Thanks for the match.

Division D
MikeMarchant (Roman 105-25 BC) defeated Bluefin (Syracusan 280-211 BC): 60/58
This was a really tough battle, as the numbers suggest, and it could have gone either way. But, at the end of the day, Mars was behind us and the luck fell our way. Thanks for a really great game, Bluefin, and bad luck.
Best Wishes
Mike

harveylh -Achaemenid Persian 545-481 BC defeats ianiow - Arab 1000-313 BC 44-0.
Enough terrain to keep the horde of camels from outflanking the Persians forced the Arabs into a frontal assault.

(7) phoyle3290 - Jewish Revolt 66-135 AD defeats (5) Supervark - Lombard 493-567 AD - 41-12
His cavalry tried to outflank me on both sides, but I was able to get rid of his infantry quickly before the cavalry forces arrived. It was a smart move by my opponent that just didn't pan out as planned. Good game. Thanks for the match!

devoncop (Arkanian) beat Paul McNeil 57% to 32% on the very last turn.
A highly wooded and hilly map saw the Arkanians having serious problems against mass Javelin Cavalry and Thracian medium foot that came streaming out of the woods mid game. Paul was very unlucky with rallies and perhaps ironically got his only rally of the game on the last turn which reduced his losses from 60 to 57% but which nonetheless gave me the very minimum margin to just scrape the win.
Thanks to my opponent. A great fight.

General Shapur - Kingdom of Soissons 461-486 AD defeats phoyle3290 - Jewish Revolt 66-135 AD 62-33
The before and after images tell the story.
A complex map with terrain in the Roman half - but not really optimal for heavy foot.
The Jewish army did well on the Roman right from the outset - quickly breaking Roman heavy hitters and Raw troops alike and scoring a quick lead - but they did get bogged down by superior numbers as they diverted zelots to deal with the
Roman troops well positioned on a commanding hill, well positioned, but not really suited to rough ground.
The Zelots were able to scatter my cavalry and reduce the hill; had there been more turns they would have taken it fully. The cavalry reappeared on the Roman right but only played a minor role.
