Yes. They are worth $25 each, only to be used in the Slitherine store.

Classical Antiquity

Instructions

Here is the full army list for the Classical Antiquity league section. There are over 100 armies available to choose from and, initially, players are required to choose 4 of them (from different nations please, so not 3 Carthaginian armies and a Seleucid army, for example). You may choose to use one type of ally with your army which must be nominated now. Notice also the new regulation regarding the “Diadochi nation” of primarily pike armies. Please post your army selections in your order of preference in this thread.

Once players have been organised into divisions of 10 based on their playing experience and ability, they will then be allocated one of their four choices. The allocation process will give preference to the lowest rated players (see FOG2DL ratings) in each division. Only very occasionally might a player be asked to make another selection at this stage.

Players will need to have both the base game and the Immortal Fire DLC to enter this section of the tournament.

Please be sure to familiarise yourself with both the Rules of Competition and the Players' Guide.

Biblical

Instructions

Here is the full army list for the new Biblical league section. It is split into two sections. There are 16 "hoplite" armies available and you may choose just one of these as part of your four overall choices. There are 25 other armies to choose from and players may choose up to 4 of them (provided they are from different nations, so not 3 Achaemenid Persian or 2 Egyptian armies, for example). You may choose to use one type of ally with your army which must be nominated now. Please post your army selections in your order of preference in this thread.

Please note: armies will be 1600 points again for this section.

Once players have been organised into divisions of 10 based on their playing experience and ability, they will then be allocated one of their four choices. The allocation process will give preference to the lowest rated players (see FOG2DL ratings) in each division. Only very occasionally might a player be asked to make another selection at this stage.

Players will need to have the base game, the Immortal Fire and the Rise of Persia DLC's, and you will also need to download the new version of the TT mod (v1.5.18) to enter this section.

The TT mod (v1.5.18) is available here . . . https://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewto ... 77&t=93842

Themed Event

Instructions

Matches in this section are played to a tighter schedule and must be prioritised above matches from other sections. A full schedule of matches will be published before the tournament opens on October 1st. Either player may set up the challenge in this section. Remember to PM your opponent as well as placing the challenge and password in this thread. The group stage matches will be completed in the first 5 weeks of the competition, the knock-out matches will be allowed around 18 days for completion. Unfinished matches will be subject to adjudication.

We will be using the new version of jomni’s Silk Road mod (v1.7). You can download the multi-player version of the mod in game using the “Download Community scenarios” facility.

The format has changed from previous seasons. For this season 12 players will constitute a pool, which will be divided into 4 qualifying groups of 3 players. At the group stage players will play each other in paired games (mirror matches) so the total of individual battles played by each player will be 4. Only the winner of each group will proceed to the knock-out stage, which will consist of semi-finals and final (again using paired games).

The group stage will use the earlier Silk Road armies (dates predominantly BC) and the knock-out stage will use the later (dates predominantly AD) armies. Players will initially select two armies for the qualifying group stage from the first list. Players will automatically get their two choices and in each paired game will play one battle using their own choice of army and one battle using their opponent’s choice of army. The same procedure will apply for the knock-out stage, except that players will choose armies from the second list.

Where players finish with the same number of points at the end of the group stage, the points aggregate from the matches between those players will be used to decide the final places in the group table. If this does not separate the players then lots will be drawn to determine which player proceeds to the next stage of the competition.

I have added everyone to the invitation list who has put their name down so far. A very encouraging start to the recruitment for Season 6. If those players who have entered the current automated event can remember to mention the FOG2DL to your opponents then that would be very helpful. Please try and get them to add their names to this thread. Thanks. :D

Invitations have now been sent out to all players who have participated in the FOG2DL in the last two seasons, plus those who posted their names in the recent stickied thread in this forum asking new players to express an interest, plus those players who are currently participating in Slitherine's latest automated tournament.

Hello, I am a bit confused by the final note. It says byzantines and arabs are allowed two armies in any division, but also that I may only pick one army from any of these 2 groups. Does it mean that I could choose, for example:

1) Arab (Umayyad) 685-750 AD
2) Byzantine 600-649 AD
3) Arab (Abbasid) 747-793 AD
4) Byzantine 650-739 AD

*these are not my choices it's just an example to clarify

thanks!

No, you can only pick one Arab and/or one Byzantine army, but I will allow 2 players to use Arab and/or Byzantine armies in the same division. PM sent. (stockwellpete)
