Dynastic Egyptians – allied Greek General

Post by madmike111 »

The army list states that an allied Greek General can only command hoplites. Does that mean other full price general can’t command hoplites you buy as part of your main army, not talking about 'allied troops'?

No. The other generals can command hoplites and Egyptians.

Just to nudge the topic a bit, I am thinking about this army as well, and have been trying to shop for models in 15mm, and am coming up empty. Obviously Nubians and Greeks have other model lines, I am having trouble actually finding the Egyptians themselves.

Any thoughts?

Donningtonn (now Black Hat IIRC) does some spearmen.

Chariots are trickier...Obviously you can use Assyrians for the chariots, but the crew probably have to come from something else.

Both Essex and Magister Militum do Saite Egyptian spearmen which could work.

Ethan - Donnington are still Donnington, Black Hat are the former Gladiator.

Essex did some Kushite chariots, which were essentially Assyrian cabs, with Egyptian horses, and a mix of Egyptian and Kushite crew - at least, that's what I got when I ordered them!

They're going to look really good when I eventually get around to painting them!
