Correct on both accounts, you can have pseudo-historical armies, if say your Gallic empire manages to reach Africa and recruit elephants. And all units will appear in FOG2 if they are in Empires, DLC or not.

Regarding unit composition in FOG2 battles I also wanted to confirm that we will be able to field units that are not normally a part of certain army list in the base game. So, for example, when I manage to create a large Gallic empire and recruit scuttari mercenaries, some Italian javeliners and African elephants once the battle is exported to FOG these units will appear on the battlefield, correct?

I'm late to the party, but extremely excited by this game as well. I'm on a Mac find Bootcamp to be a bit of a hassle, but I'm going to do it for this one and make it a day-one purchase.

I love what I'm seeing with the strategy layer elements, but the ambition of tying this in with FOG 2 is what pushes this one over the top. I absolutely love when these grand visions are executed and we end up with something that would be out of scope for a single game (Mortal Empires in the TW: Warhammer series comes to mind as another example). My only issue with FOG 2 is just that I wish there was more context to the battles, which is exactly what we're getting here, so we finally have sweeping grand strategy combined with (turn-based!) tactical granularity.

Within this title itself outside of the FOG 2 integration, I'm particularly excited about the decadence/culture aspects, the unique aspects of the different nations and what I'm seeing of the overall balance between complexity and accessibility. The challenges of trying to expand and maintain order are going to be really interesting, but also do a lot to improve my immersion.

By the way, a bit of a random point, but for the promotional pictures, I think you guys should always emphasize shots that don't have the nation overlay color. While it is useful in gameplay terms, it doesn't put the best face on the engine when compared with the natural topography. This is already the case on the Steam page, but I think it bears mentioning (the color overlays were on during the announcement stream).

Thanks for making this, guys! :D
