Unit names - Carry over on campaign and battle map?

Post by James5656 »

I was just wondering if ability to name units would be able carry over from campaign to tactical and back again?

It seems like a campaign unit is represented by multiple units, so could see a few units needing to be called "5th legion" which would be fine.

If you could name the seperate tactical units and have them retain it, with one name given priority on campaign map that'd be great but imagine bit harder to sort out and might not be feasible.

The unit names in Empires will be shown when you do a tactical battle in FOG2. You won't be able to edit them either in Empires or FOG2 though. In Empires you can rename your stacks of units (armies / fleets) and can choose on the fly if you want Anglicized names or more flavorful names for them. For example we found a lengthy glossary on ... the Carthaginian language and we are using it to give more flavor to the Carthaginian armies and fleets... (We also put our hands on a ... Celtic glossary)

Will non-Anglicized names apply to places & people as well?
Like Qart-ḥadasht for Carthage or Azrubaal & Magn for Hannibal's brothers.
