Well at least you have started to redress the balance. The reason the comps are down there is that people get off their arsse and run them.

And some Northern League plus the Scottish events. However, Phil does nail an important point ...

Yes, so long as they are each playing in a different FoG period.

Nothing to do with the population thing then, or the history of the events then, maybe in future someone will start some more Northern events.

A minor wibble. The announcement on the BHGS site

http://www.bhgs.co.uk/rollcall/rollcall.htm

is titled ..

Roll Call
HIGH WYCOMBE
7th-8th May 2011

... which may have been true at one point, but Cranfield is really nowhere near High Wycombe (~50 miles, going M40->M25->M1). The link for accommodation also seems to be specifying hotels in and around High Wycombe.

Peter,
That is alright. the northern players will go to hotels in High Wycombe and never get to Cranfield on time!!!!

David53 the answer is for someone to organise a competition further north than Derby.

In any case when I lived in Kent it was quicker to go to Paris then Derby.

The north/south arguement does not hold water as the question is what constitutes North and what consitutes South. If I lived in Cornwall London is a hell of a distance.

True in all things, we'll see what we can do then

Bob, if you live in Cornwall, Bristol is a hell of a distance!

I should know: I live in Plymouth on the Devon and Cornwall border, and it takes over two hours to get to Bristol - IF you catch the traffic right

Your original post says 4 elements of shooty cav, this says 4 bg's and now there is an added requirement for the army to have steppe terrain?

So are the original post and the BHGS site wrong?

It was David or Lynda (confusing isn't it?) who claimed the Steppe thing. Bruce has clarified? this by stating only four BG's of Cavalry Bow Sword. I suspect this is a Freudian slip and it should be four elements as this has been clarified previously.

Hope that clears things up. Who said creating simple rules was, erm, simple...

No David, Lynda is always right. David can only be right when she allows him to be

The web-site is correct.

4 bases/stands/elements of Cv,B,Sw (i.e. 1 BG) in the submitted army list.
Steppes is not a requirement.

Could you have 4 bases spread between multiple BGs e.g. Urartian or Assyrian?

Hi guys

Is it correct that the Rollcall page has 28 Poplar Close on but the Entry Form has 27 Poplar Close?

Cheers
