Warfare 2014 FOG competitions
Hi All,
I have had a number of people contact me looking for details of the FOG competitions for Warfare this year. It is there on the competitions page of the WAR website, but you can easily skim over it (or not look down far enough).
Please can you get your entries in a.s.a.p., both because Steve Thompson is threatening to pull any competition/theme not at least half-full by 1 October, to make space for other more popular themes, and of course in last years we've also filled up and had to turn people away - so get your booking in now to avoid either of those diverse fates!!
The link on the page is found by scrolling down to the section headed:
"DOWNLOAD PDF BELOW FOR MORE DATAILS OF FOG AND DBMM
/company/67/395/files/Warfare%202014%20FOG%20and%20DBMM%20competitions%20(1).docx"
Or, even easier, here they are!!
FOG:AM (Alexander to Augustus – 15mm, 800points, 6’x4’-ish tables) – 16 places
Any army from the following lists, dates must be between 336BC and 14AD:
Rise of Rome: Any list
Immortal Fire: Classical Greek; Thracian; Kyrenean Greek; Early Carthaginian; Skythian or Saka; Classical Indian; Late Achaemenid Persian; Syracusan; Alexandrian Macedonian; Early Successor; Early Sarmatian; Galatian; Hellenistic Greek; Graeco-Bactrian; Indo-Greek
Legions Triumphant: Principate Roman; Kushan or Indo-Skythian; Early German; Ancient British; Early Scots-Irish; Dacian or Carpi
Lost Scrolls: Early Republican Roman; Etruscan League; Italian Hill Tribes; Latin; Samnite; Campanian; Apulian, Lucanian or Bruttian
FOG:AM (Enter the Dragon - 15mm, 800points, 6’x4’-ish tables) – 12 places
Any army from the following lists:
Empires of the Dragon: Any list
Immortal Fire: Classical Indian (only Guptas)
Swords and Scimitars: Seljuk Turk (only Eastern Seljuks); Khwarazmian (only before 1231AD)
Legions Triumphant: Kushan or Indo-Skythian; Hepthalite Hunnic
Eternal Empire: Timurid
Decline and Fall: Western Turkish (not Khazars); Abbasid Arab; Ghaznavid
Lost Scrolls: Vietnamese
FOG:AM (25mm Open, any book army pre-500AD – 25mm, 650points, 6’x4’-ish tables) – 8
Cheers,
Tim Child

OK.
I've tried to login to the site, but i've forgotten my password. When I click the forgotten password link I get "mail send failed"
I can't register normally as my email address has already been used.
I seem to remember having a world of difficulty last year with the rubbish website as well.

Re: Warfare 2014 FOG competitions
Hi all,
I am having an "issue" with my usual email address that so many of you have used for so many years now. There is a new gmail account set up - please see the WAR website for the tournament rules (click on the "Warfare competitions" tag on the right, then the competition rules are under the red banner "Final rules pack and Tims new e-mail address here").
Thanks all - please can you warn anyone you know who doesn't frequent these forums, as emails sent to my Tiscali account are, I think, just building up with no message back to the sender to tell them that I haven't received it!

Re: Warfare 2014 FOG competitions
Just a query - its doesn't say so but are allies restricted to those in the list for fog Empires of the dragon etc - under DBM it specifically excludes allies outside the list but not under the fog help - unless my weekend in paris battling the French FOG players has adled my brain more than I thought?

Re: Warfare 2014 FOG competitions
In most FoG competitions the ally has to be from a permitted list. Since lists have to be submitted by 1st Nov I suggest you email Tim direct with your query.

On the other hand, I am here so can answer the question so everyone can see. The competition rule isn't restricting the allies to only those permitted as a main army, so any legal ally for legal main army will be OK. FWIW, I have already checked and approved one such list.

I've tried the Warfare competitions tag on the right only to find there isn't one on the W.A.R. websiteTimChild wrote:Hi all,

I tried the warfare competitions tag on the left. There is indeed some red writing saying "Final rules pack and Tims new e-mail address here with details of where to send army lists". I click on the bit below which says "/company/67/395/files/Warfare%202014%20FoG%20rules%20(1)(1).pdf". Either nothing happens, or it sends me to a weird location with no content, and no email address.
It's entirely possible that Mr Dementia has come to lunch a little earlier than expected, but I can't for the life of me find the rules pack or your email address Tim. So am a bit stumped at the moment as to a way to get my army list to you.

Cheers Pete - yes it was a delightful tournament at Rueill-Malmaison, with much wine and good food - and some very good french players.
The Early Hungarians (phil's reccomendations) and they were outstanding - and my first tournament win solo . In fact, I felt quite free and easy with the Hungarians and perhaps I need to go to more cavalry based armies in future <g>
