yeah its good on the flame tank, 1939 probably my least favourite DLC but you can really get your core on a solid footing.

so finished the Russians off for now, got more flame tanks and some odds and ends, could have stole some of their huge AA guns but got snookered again by trench slog.
for final mission i got another aiming assistant ,panzer IVD and the KVs were also taken, just wondering if i should upgrade char to them or not.

so had a good think about next steps my core is well set and settings not that much of a challenge so need to crank up the difficulty, having so many slots due to panzer general and no airforce means im over strengthen everything and with experienced units its too much. i cant add no overstrength as it keeps your over strengthened stuff from last time and you cant remove the overstrength so that will need to be a restriction i do until next time. dropping panzer general, blitzkrieg and perimeter control

so that was difficult at times, defending the planes was tight until you get them support. (the 10cm guns couldn't be transported) destroying the fort was easy enough with rapid fire on the shtromovik. flying the support north and the paras south was difficult with fear of the unknown.
generally seemed bit more of a challenge so hopefully this continues, completed the training just for the hero i have no paras so couldn't train anyone. so have the rocket artillery and the hero to go with it, with inefficient supply you really need that hero on the rockets though now have 203cm, flame tank and rockets vying for the field repair hero.

I've always wondered why there is a 4th grounded plane, named after a hero, with less strength than the other 3. It doesn't seem to matter if it gets destroyed.

yes think its like a little easter egg type thing, would have been cool if you get him as hero if you save his planes or maybe higher grade fighter unit if you saved that .

so big descisons now, eben emael or holland, actually thinking holland might be easier option. interesting options with no paras and very little airforce maybe go through both out of interest.

ok this setup proved to be complete failure without being able to suppress the fort you cant get near it, you also cant get through the towns on either side to encircle it, with trench slog and not have OS units you just dont have enough turns, feel that this map is designed to be impossible for normal attack and straight forward with airbourne troops.
on to holland which needs to work or im out of the war how ahistorical would that be germans failed inworld war 2 at the hands of the dutch.

so plan is to use all infantry, buy small artty for the mission and whatever sorry excuse for air force i have.
basic plan is to get to the middle airport and us it as staging post to bomb airport next to main objective once i get my infantry in by glider this will simply be case of holding the main hex no need to worry about anything after that. biggest threat will actually be fear of the unknown and how much it slows me down

so after first go i realized using vehicles is fine was put off by mission description, so restarted with kv2 pz11can sdkfz 122 added in

mission went smoothly enough, just main objective but really just getting past this point is what it is about. fear of teh unknown was real pain in this one at the start after that i wasnt ever under pressure tried to get to southern airfield over land but no where near enough turns to get close

Back to normal for grebbeberg, hero is double attack, wanted to upgrade recon to rocket arty cross a tank with steamroller over to recon and start work on another steam rolling tank but don't have option I'm assuming due to denied artillery, so bought wurframen as new unit. maybe not see action yet as think 203mm is needed this time around. plan is to blitz throught th esouthern section take bonus objective then attack amersfoot from behind.
