Scenario: The Rhine

Post by WookieeDavidson »

Hey again, back at it again with the SP Scenarios... i took a break from the D-Day Scenarios since i wanted to try something different, i would recommend placing the 5 D-Day scenarios into a different folder for the time being and replacing the scenarios with these 5, or don't, I'm not your mother

1. Roer Triangle - 14th January 1945, Operation Blackcock was an operation to clear German troops from the Roer Triangle, formed by the towns of Roermond and Sittard in the Netherlands and Heinsberg in Germany, You will control elements of the 7th Armored "Desert Rats", 43rd 'Wessex' Division and 52nd 'Lowland' Divisions

2. The Reichswald - 8th February 1945, Operation Veritable was a pincer movement between the UK and Canadian allies in the Reichswald Forest, You will control both the UK and Canadians as you push to secure the east flank of Nijmegen, taking the towns of Kleve and Goch, The Reichswald is known in Canadian History as one of the many bloody battles that took place in the Canadian military (hopefully this scenario will give it a run for its money)

3. Grenade - 23rd February 1945, Operation Grenade was the American offensive that took place days after Veritable with the hope of surrounding the German armies on the western bank of the Rhine River, This scenario also has Operation Blockbuster in a seperate area of the map, the Canadian and UK continuation operation after Vertiable

4. Bridge over the Rhine - 1st March 1945, While Operations Grenade and Blockbuster were underway the Americans are racing towards Cologne, Bonn, Koblenz and Remagen as only 4 Bridges across the Rhine are at that moment intact, reaching Remagen will be the most time consuming

5. Undertone - 17th March 1945, Operation Undertone was the clean up operation conducted by the US 7th and French 1st Army, the main goal was to penetrate the Siegfried Line and secure the Saarland, however the terrain hindered the Allies progress allowing most of the German forces to escape

Current Bugs:
  • On the Scenario select screen has the same issue from my previous scenarios still present - the Mission name repeats itself weirdly
A lot of the town names with œ or ü and ö have lowercase even though the rest of the name will be in Caps... (thats something the devs will fix next update)

Great series of scenarios!

Played 'Bridge over the Rhine' yesterday - short, easy and fun.

Small correction - the name of the small river which flows into the Rhine north of Bonn is Sieg, not Ruhr.

Thank you for the scenarios, small correction in the name of a village (I work in the area). The rest seems ok :)
