Invasion Operations Tournament

The next tournament is open for signups!

The Invasion Operations Tournament will start on 28th October and each Game Round will last for 14 days.

Maps list:

1. Peninsula Invasion - Tournament Settings - A new map coming in the 8.6.1 patch. Reduced to 15 turns, Japanese get their reinforcements faster than in the standard map and Brits get slightly less. VP awarded for destroying enemy units and for holding secondary locations. Japanese are now aiming to blow both bridges. The map has also had some tweaks and the Peninsula is now an Island which can mean that supply can be an issue if the Brits aren't careful! Also, there's only one deploy location on the Peninsula now, making it much harder for both sides to just keep dropping new units into the front lines.

2. Wake Island Assault - Tournament Settings - Another new map coming in the 8.6.1 patch. Also reduced to 15 turns and again the Japanese get their reinforcements faster. Also moved the deployment zones closer to the Island to speed up engagement. Bunkers and Coastal Batteries are reduced in Strength to encourage the Japanese to assault them. VP gained for kills (especially Naval and Air kills) and holding the 5 Primary Locations. Japanese also get some bonus VP for taking the outlying secondary locations and gain an instant victory if they can capture the USA HQ in the South East.

3. Karjelan Kesa - Tournament Settings - Same map as in the last tournament, seemed to give some really good matches, so think it fits well as the closing map here.

Themed tournaments is a good idea. How about a naval/carrier theme?
There should be at least 3 US/Japan battles available.

Or maybe a Desert one?

It's honestly mostly down to how quickly I can make maps that fit the Tournament Scoring format!

I have half a sketch for a Recon in Force map featuring dwindling supplies, but haven't figured out how to make it fun for the defender yet...

I strongly agree with the naval/carrier theme suggestion, even if I have to play under the name of Chester.

And perhaps a large battles theme? Risky considering abandoning players, but it could be tested...

How about scenarios each covering one of the Market Garden landings?
Hell, I'll volunteer to create the basic scenarios if Shards implement the objectives and scoring system.

Might it have been boosted due to the Steam announcement? It's almost double numbers! I can't imagine other reason (like a drop of fortnite servers or something)

I have been waiting for email notification to do my first turn but haven't received anything. Have looked on the website, on my game, wherever I thought I might find something but to no avail. This is my first time trying this so I wondered if I was missing something.

If you login to multiplayer in game you should see two games at the top of your list with small trophies next to them. These are your tournament games for this round.

Hi, I think should be useful to activate those notifications to everybody by default
