arvon - Tuareg 950-1500 AD defeated imatson2527 - Castilian/Leonese 1200-1319 AD 76-30 for a 4-0 win.

A large pond lay in our right forward sector with a woods wrapping around its bottom right side. A gentle ridge overlooked the lake on the left and wrapped partially around the neighboring woods.

We deployed a large block of our mixed infantry in the center short of the ridge and a few in the woods. Our light foot screened the edges of the woods. Our Camels and horse lancers deployed enmass off the right of our infantry block.

The Castilians deployed a line of mixed foot, defensive spears and crossbows, in the center with a large screen of light horse on their right. Half a dozen or so knights formed up in the rear as a reserve.

We immediately began by shifting our infantry block to our right to march through the woods, while our camels and horse swung out far to the right to begin an flanking move. Most of the Castilian infantry advanced straight ahead, with their light horse leading a skirmishing assault on my infantry block. Their knight reserve shifted to their left to counter my flanking move supported by some crossbows.

Our light foot moved out of the woods and attempted to screen our flanking mounted from the crossbow and knights, while the foot in the woods moved up to the edge and out into a patch of rough to the right of the woods in support. Our camels and horse continued to push up the right side, with a few turning to face the coming knights. Our main body of foot, now being harried by a swarm of light horse plodded steadfastly on towards the woods and beyond.

The first couple of knights charged the our massed mounted and were quickly engulfed, while more of our mounted continued to work around the flank and rear of the Castilian left. Though taking some fire from the crossbows, our foot closed in on these and began pushing them back. More foot moved up through the woods in support, while 3 or 4 wheeled once within the protect the flank and rear of the advance from the pestering light horse and the advancing horde of supporting Castilian spear.

On our right, the first wave of knights were flanked and broken drawing off a number of camels in pursuit. Several more knights charged in and got locked up fighting our mounted. Despite being outnumbered and disordered by the camels, and even flanked, they fought heroically and several of our camels broke and fled. Meanwhile, our foot supported by camels finally saw off the crossbows and moved to further flank the embattled knights. Some of our freed foot and horse wheeled back to support those surrounded in the woods. These drove off most of the light horse, catching a couple and routing them. The Castilians assaulted our troops in the woods with their spear and light horse with predictable results; several of the units were disrupted or fragmented and fell back.

Our flanking mounted closed in on the engaged knights and they were broken and pursued. Our foot sallied out of the woods and broke the shattered spears leading to a chain of fragmentations and a general rout of the Castilian army.
