GROUP A Fixtures & Challenges

Open for challenges

Please look at the fixtures below for each round.

Group A challenges. Either player may initiate a game by posting a challenge in the appropriate thread in the competition forum and by sending a PM to their opponent.
Please post the challenge in the 36 hours before the start date.
All challenges will select "Open Battle" for the scenario type. All battles will use “Medium” 1200-point armies’, players will choose a “Medium" army and a “Medium" battlefield, with ‘Potluck’ terrain and “Medium” 24 turns
In the Group Stage challenges should be posted in the 36 hours before the start date for the round.

Round 1 will start on or before* 24/09/2021 and must finish by 08/10/2021

Round 2 will start on or before* 09/10/2021 and must finish by 23/10/2021

Round 3 will start on or before* 24/10/2021 and must finish by 07/11/2021

*Games can start a day or so early but challenges should not be placed more than 36 hours (allowing 1 day with time differences) before the start date to avoid the possibility of challenges being lost.

Challenges

Group A teams please check these fixture lists and be ready to post challenges in this topic.

For the group either player may initiate a game by posting a challenge in the appropriate thread in the competition forum and by sending a PM to their opponent.
Please post the challenge in the 36 hours before the start date.
If the challenge is not posted by the first named player by the start date the second named player can post the challenge and PM their opponent.

The challenge should be short, and in the form below

The challenger should set up the game before posting the challenge.
All games will select "Open Battle" for the scenario type. All will use “Medium” 1200-point armies’; players will choose “Medium" army and a “Medium" battlefield, with ‘Potluck’ terrain and “Medium” 24 turns.

Care should be taken to set the correct army (with allies if selected) as listed in the fixture list.

Please note the dates for starting and completing each round.

Results

Results are not to be posted in this topic.
Results should be posted in the Group Results topic for the correct Group. In this case Group A.
Results should be posted by the winner.

hmm, I'd much rather play 3 games simultaneously over six weeks than try to finish a single game in two weeks. Given time zone differences and work schedules, that's my preference/experiences based on DL play.

I think scheduling may prove a bit chaotic as people have to sort out who's challenged already if you can only be playing a single match at a time.

...and for the record Vadim84 and I are currently playing.

Yep. I have suggested it to Mike and Stefano. However only send in results of each round when all have been completed. The idea was to add a bit of excitement. One round at a time, what do we need to win the group, to be runners up to be best 3rd place. I believe next WTC Slitherine will be using a scoring system similar to their tournaments, which may mean, if all 3 games from the group can be played together, may limit the excitement. I have also just begun my game.
