Problems with Custom Scenarios

Prior to Friday I had Field Of Glory (the Matrix version) set up on my PC (patched to 1.03) and had been able to download and play most of the 50 cuser created plus scenarios that had been made available via this site.

On Friday I first downloaded and installed patch 1.10 but then gave in and brought “Rise Of Rome”. This runs fine and I am very happy with it. However a large number of the custom scenarios I had previously installed are now not available for play as they have disappeared from the “New Game£ list.

Is this just one of those things that is a consequence of the updates associated with “Rise of Rom”?

Many thanks
Ian

If your custom scenarios are in your my documents/slitherine/field of glory scenarios folder you can load and play them normally. If they are in the program files folder then they could clash with other Rise of Rome and FOG scenarios. Keith

Hi
Thanks for that, all my scenerios are in the "Game" subfolder in "Field Of Glory" they worked fine until I added 1.1 my verison of the gme (the Matriz one) ther is no Scenerio folder. Or are you saying her that I should have let Field Of Glory Install in my ducmednts rather the in its own folder in the Matrix Games folder of my Wargemes fodler that is in program files ?

Many thanks

Ian,

If you go to "My Documents" (Windows XP) Or "Documents" (Windows Vista, 7), then "Slitherine", then "FieldOfGlory Scenarios", that's where your custom scenarios should be.

(You don't need to install the game in My Documents.)

Before version 1.1.0, it also worked to put your custom scenarios in the Games folder (inside the game's installation folder). But that was causing some problems with multiplayer.

In the new version, you should be able to keep all your custom scenarios in "FieldOfGlory Scenarios", and they should work when you set the "game type" to "custom game" in the new game window -- even in multiplayer.

Hope that helps
