I'm just working on the last scenario at the moment (Caesar in Gaul 52BC - 5 Alesia)

I hope to post the last batch (5 games) next week.

Also there's a revision in the pipeline for '53BC - 2 The Treveri'
as play-testing has determined that the latest 'anarchy' rule tweak gives the Romans no chance of winning! :(

Updated first post - added the next three battles (52BC) to the downloads

The two final battles (the siege of Alesia) should be posted in the next few days

I have not tried (yet!) these scenarios, but I think your idea of making every battle of Caesar's commentaries on the gallic wars is great :)

Do you have plans to continue with the commentaries on the civil wars?

don't you think the scenario is heavily unbalanced? the romans are outnumbered and have no advantage in quality of the troops

Yes omarquartar, I agree! A revised version is under testing at the moment.

With the latest patch (after I had finished the scenario in question) the legionaries have now developed a nasty tendency to rush off in unsupported suicide attacks. So although the intention was for them to stay virtually unmoved from their starting position, and let the Gauls come to them, they now tend to throw away all the defensive advantages and run off in spontaneous charges.

I am attempting to re-adjust the balance whilst making the minimum alterations. I'm halfway through what I think is the 'final' version at the moment, so I may well post it tomorrow.

Just edited the first post with a revised version of Caesar in Gaul 53BC - 2 The Treveri

(This replaces the original)

- Slight adjustments to unit numbers
- Cut down some trees
- Flooded some terrain
- Dug up some hills
- Shifted some boulders

If you're lucky and careful the Romans can now win!

I think you could almost argue for two versions of each scenario, one for playing against the AI and another for multiplayer. But I'm not volunteering for that little job! :)

"i can't get no satisfaction" playing against the AI

i think that a good scenario is one whose results don't differ too much from the historical outcome if played between more or less equal opponents (the AI is obviously dumb) ; yours are very good. congratulations

I added one of the scenarios, but don't see it in FOG? I added it to the games directory?

Downloaded scenarios - how to do it -

1 Download the file from the link
2 Once downloaded, double click on the filename. This will open the WinRAR dialog box (you will need a program that reads RAR files to do this - see post number nine)
3 Click 'Close' on the 'Please purchase WinRAR license' box
4 Click on the 'Extract to' button
5 Scroll down the 'Extract path and options' box until you have 'My Documents\Slitherine\FieldofGlory Scenarios' highlighted
6 Click OK
7 Open My Documents and see if the scenario folder is there
8 Open Field of Glory
9 Select 'New Game'
10 Pick the 'Custom Game' box at the top of the screen
11 Scroll down and pick the game title

Note
There are newer versions of these battles

Hope this helps
