Hello everyone! I found this game in the beginning of this year and have enjoyed it a lot. I finally decided to learn the mission editor and here's the result. Even though it is completed, it would be nice if someone else played it first for any feedback before I announce it in the other thread. It is designed to be challenging on level III but it still should be fun.
One historical fact. In the scenario you receive reinforcements at port of Toppila and get to see a historical event picture from the actual location. In reality the picture is from 1944 and the troops in the picture are not disembarking but embarking at Toppila to Landing of Röyttä in Battle of Tornio to fight German forces in the Lapland War.

Re: Battle of Oulu
Congratulations on an excellent scenario!
Can't say that I enjoyed it from beginning to end because for most of the scenario I was absolutely sure it was going to be a humiliating loss. Despite all the casualties inflicted on the Russians, they kept pushing me back and likewise inflicted unsustainable losses on the Finns. But when the Russians were occupying half of Oulu they finally ran out of steam and I was able to push them back.
There didn't appear to be any technical errors and it was an extremely intense affair. It is often said that the AI is incapable of conducting a competent offence in OOB but you have proved that to be wrong. Well done!

Wow, very nice to hear, thanks for the feedback! One of my goals was to make at least a semi-competent AI attack, so nice to hear it worked! And congratulations that you still won it on the first try!
I have always found hard defence maps fun. It is interesting to try to delay the enemy and inflict damage while preparing a second line of defence where to fall back to. But in many maps you don't have to do that, instead you can stop the enemy with a good defence at one location. Here I tried to make it so that you have to do this "active defence" by delaying the enemy at some location while destroying it in some other location with a bigger force etc. And even though the map is hard I think there are many ways to beat it. The river also helps in encircling the enemy.
Making it was so fun I want to start to work on the next one.

I also love when the enemy actually forces you to withdraw and prepare another defensive line to fall behind. Great job!tumpio wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 4:11 pm Wow, very nice to hear, thanks for the feedback! One of my goals was to make at least a semi-competent AI attack, so nice to hear it worked! Thanks for sharing
It seems that there are more and more fictional scenarios in historical strategy games.

Thanks for playing!
I'm thinking of making Winter War and Continuation War campaign next. It's going to take a long time but the goal is to have historical accuray in those.
