Like I said before, they'd be mad not to take advantage of the captive audience at Britcon!

Maybe but I'm sure it'll take a while to get them to the printers for publishing, doubt we'll see them before next year.

An e-reader version of FoG was announced at the slitherine conference a month or so ago so that may solve the problem of getting the rules to the printers for those for whom an electronic ver36s2ion would be acceptable.

Will be glad when there is finally some announcement - the Plymouth club are trying to finalise their competitions for next February, and we have at least two sets of rules where we are waiting for news of a new edition before we can decide what we will run next year!

but isn't it to late ?
i see less and less message here
i think lots of player "have turned the page" : i mean they know play another set of rule and ....scale : many 25/28 mm players
15 mm, my favorite scale, is less popular than before
people play with their existing armies, don't make new ones
i'm sad of but i won't cry as i did for the unertake of dbm

i will be to the saumur fog tournament this week-end i'm not optimist but i'm sure u will enjoy

Hmmm... I suspect that the idea of people giving up on FOG in droves is grounded more in hyperbole than fact...

... but the almost total lack of official word on where this product is going is somewhat baffling, at least in comparison to the support of every other rule set I have experienced.

I agree. I don't think you can infer from low activity on here that people are moving away from playing FOG. More likely that no-one needs to ask many questions any more.

Although I do suspect that there have not been a lot of new players starting playing recently.

With any game, something that does not move forward moves backwards. And that is my impression with FoG now. Lately there has been a saturation in the market of Ancient wargaming rulesets, thus newcomers are more dispersed and getting more onto the last thing coming out. 28mm are more and more succesful.

Today the author of Impetus posted that, depending on the country, the release of a new edition is a big push for the game to be played or not (depending on the club culture of the wargame community). For some countries no news mean no more gaming, thus I understand what Marco says.

france is a special market because of the french rule : "l'art de la guerre"
only half of the troop and time needed compare to fog
a reduced format will be a good idea
fog is still hard to play for new player
when i heard that a lot of troop is needed for fogn, more than for foga :
- i don't think i will play it (one player less) : i never play napoleonic so don't have any figure...as any new player
- i don"t understand the rulers
these rule give the impression to be for old player who already have a lot of figurine
the success of saga, with very less material is interesting.
